Well done to everyone on being our HoWL point winners this week. As always, it’s wonderful to hear all of the lovely shout outs about our wonderful year 3 and 4 crews.

Y3/4 – BEAUTIFUL WORK PRODUCT LAUNCH

Look at this fabulous work produced by our Y3/4 students for their final product to share the collaborative learning outcomes from their Summer term expedition. I am blown away by the quality of work and character growth of our students despite being in the center on a Pandemic. Our students have grappled with tough historic content, built a website using their computing learning and produce some fabulous artwork.  A presentation of their learning can be seen in the website below – this is also soon to be linked to many historical websites for museums and experiences around the UK, this final product supported us in answering the guiding question ‘Why remember the Romans?’

Learning Aliens!

Yesterday, as part of transition, we completed activities based on the learning aliens. One of the tasks was to create a learning alien and decide what type of learning behaviours they would have! I was so impressed with some of the wonderful ideas you all came up with. Here’s a few of my favourites!

Cocoon I today . . .

We have also been working extremely hard on our passage presentations today in cocoon I.  Sharing lots of ideas and discussing our time in year 4 and although we have had the same lesson how different our experiences have still been.

I am so proud of how hard they have all worked today and how much effort they have put into their writing.  Here are some snippets of their work today …

School Games Active Championship

Youth Sports Trust have teamed up with TopYa to create an exclusive School Games Active Championship which can be used by pupils and schools.

Three times a week TopYa! Release a challenge for pupils to try. Children practise the challenges, then submit their best video using a mobile device to receive personal coaching feedback from the TopYa! team of experienced virtual coaches. Points are earned for each video submitted, leading to climbing leaderboards and winning prizes!

The TopYa! Active app is committed to online safety and meets rigorous COPPA and GDPR safeguarding standards. No one can communicate within the app. All children can do to communicate with one another is give each other a virtual ‘high-five’, which functions like a social media ‘like’.

The points pupils gain are then tallied up and compared in a league table against other Doncaster schools (in the Rossington School Games Area).

This is completely free and a great way for pupils to be active at home and at school.

I have attached above information from TopYa! And you can also read more on the School Games Website.

You will need the following code which is unique to your school: 22612

Good luck and enjoy!

Learning Legends in Cocoon I…

Today we had Dylan and Oliver who have not been here as of yet on the days we have worked on our product so we set them onto some art work straight away to support bits of writing we had already.

Oliver has done an lovely labelled picture of an aqueduct that’s shows how water was transported.

Dylan is drawing a diagram which shows how the Romans managed to lay their roads so straight by using a certain tool. He was so lovely to watch he measured everything out as he went – true perfectionist! Can’t wait to see the finished product tomorrow.

Well done boys very impressed 🙂
