Enjoying the sunshine

Class 8 have worked so hard today whilst completing their end of term assessments. I am so proud of their fantastic attitudes towards their assessments and I love how keen they are to know how well they have done and how much they have improved!

They definitely deserved some choosing time for half an hour this afternoon, as well as some reading time in the sun 🌞

Only 1 more assessment to go…keep up this super work…well done class 8

Y6 Crucial Crew!

Y6 visited the Lifewise Centre today to participate in the Crucial Crew programme. The Lifewise Centre provides the children with essential knowledge and skills to be able to keep safe in the local community.

Some of the different scenarios included road safety, transport safety, fire safety and a mock trial in a Magistrates’ Court! All of the scenarios are taught by volunteering experts from South Yorkshire Police, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue and the South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership.

The children participated in all of the scenarios showing real maturity and thoughtfulness – well done guys 🙂

That’s a wrap for maths

We finished our maths assessment papers today with Deacon and Harrison scoring full marks. Lexi also did very well in her phonics assessment today with Miss O’Neill. I am super proud of how class 6 have stepped up during these assessments. You should all be very pleased with yourselves too.

Awesome!

Year 3/4 Phase Meeting

Well done to everyone on being our HoWL point winners this week. As always, it’s wonderful to hear all of the lovely shout outs about our wonderful year 3 and 4 crews.

Next week will be our last meeting of the term and we can’t wait to celebrate our attendance winners, accelerated reader winners and overall HoWL point winners. Watch this space!

Year 6 Family Learning

Year 6 had a fantastic family learning session this afternoon with so many parents and grandparents in attendance. We began by creating posters in the style of artist Keith Haring which linked to our current expedition, “Why should we help our world to survive?”

Take a look at some of our finished posters!

We then finished off the session with a game of Kahoot all about rainforests. Well done to the Wotloxlphoenix team who managed to grab the win in a game that went down to the wire. Thank you to everyone who came today and we look forward to seeing you at our next event!

Another smashing day

Class 6 continued to knock it out of the park with their assessments today with reading paper 1. Deacon, Shae and Maddison did particularly well. We then spent a lovely afternoon planning the layout for our final product.

I’m super excited to see how it turns out.
