SUPER SHOUT OUTS for class 5!

WHAT a week this week, we have been working so hard in our assessments this week and to top it off, class 5 have had some amazing work to celebrate this morning! Here are our Be Kind, Work Hard and Get Smart post card winners this week. Everyone deserves a huge shout out though, it’s been a tough old week so far but the hard work is really paying off in the outcomes of our assessments!

Family Learning

Thank you to all that could join us for Family Learning yesterday. It was wonderful to see such a good turn out for the Nursery children. A big thank you to Pastor Kevin for teaching us all about Creation in a fun and interactive way.

Fire Safety Talk

On Tuesday, we had an important visitor. They told us lots of things about how to be safe. One thing that we need to remember is STOP, DROP AND ROLL. We also learnt that you should test your smoke detector every week. I wonder if anyone can test theirs this week.

Crucial Crew

Really proud of how maturely my class participated in some really tough scenarios today at the Crucial Crew workshop.
The sessions were taught by expert volunteers from South Yorkshire Police, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership and covered a range of serious issues in our local surroundings.

Editing and improving our writing

This week in Crew Jackson, we have been critiquing our speech writing against the rubric and specific features. I have been so impressed with the way the children have supported each other with the editing and improving process.

I can’t wait to read their final touchdowns and listen to them read their speeches.

Year 6 – Crucial Crew

Today the Year 6’s visited Crucial Crew to take part in different workshops that provide them with the knowledge and skills to keep themselves and others safe in the local community. Some of the different classes included road safety, the dangers of fire, knife crime and even a trip to the local magistrates’ court to be put on trial.

Each session was taught by experts from the police, fire and road safety services in South Yorkshire, so the knowledge and insight was second to none.

Well done to everyone who joined in and got involved with some very difficult subjects!
