The children in Nursery are learning about families this week. We are discussing how families come in all shapes and sizes and what our individual families are like. We are exploring the beautiful family photos you have kindly sent in and have started drawing who lives in our house.
The children worked so hard and maintained great focus to create their drawings. We are continuing this throughout the week and will proudly display them in our home corner.
Today, Class 7 have been looking into their new text ‘Let the Children March’. We learnt about what children had to face, growing up in Birmingham, Alabama in 1963. We then worked together to critique the images!
Thank you to Mr Kershaw for giving us a demonstration of the Great Fire of London using our very own houses that we built. We loved it!
Today, Class 7 had 2 special visitors. One was Thomas Fariner telling us about how and why the Great Fire of London started. The second was Samuel Pepys telling us about what he had written in his diary during this great, historical event. Both let us make freeze frames from the event and we even sang nursery rhymes as well. We loved it!
We had a fab afternoon for National Fitness Day. We started with a bit of cosmic yoga in the classroom and then onto a whole school workout on the field.

Class 7 continued their RE learning with more Hindu stories. This week it was 4 friends where we learned that we can all use our talents to help others and be kind!
What a great way to remember our spelling sounds with “boom, clap and splat”. We absolutely loved our active spelling session 🙂
We would like to remind parents and carers of our exciting Orienteering Family Learning on Wednesday 1st October. Please arrive at the Key Stage 2 gates for a 2pm start. We can’t wait to welcome you!

We love being an active crew and today we captured some of the things that we do in a day to help us keep moving.
From our wiggle dance in a morning, to trying to get in some movement in any way we can, we will keep going with our activity and hopefully can add some more.
