Crew activities in class 8

We worked in teams this morning to focus on communication and collaboration. We had loads of fun and made lots of mess trying to construct tall towers. There was lots of mistakes but also lots of reflection as well as lots of smiles.

Well done crew!

Class 8 pop art

We have been learning about Andy Warhol today and how colours make an impact, particularly in pop art. The children have created their own pop art using different emotions and colours to match their facial expressions! They look amazing!

What a fantastic week we are having,

KS1 Final Product – update

KS1 were so excited to take receipt of their Summer expedition final product … a set of round-the-world Top Trump recipe cards!

Our expedition explored the question, ‘what does the food we eat tell us about the world around us?’.

The cards look fantastic and we are only disappointed that we can’t share them with you straight away due to the number of KS1 children currently self- isolating. With this in mind, we will launch the product when we return to school in September and offer everyone the opportunity to purchase their very own set.

Year 2 Sports Week so far …

Sports week has got off to a great start for the Year 2 children who are still at school. Monday saw us practising skills such as balancing, jumping and throwing followed by an exciting game of bench dodgeball in the hall. Today has been all about cricket with skills practice this morning. Unfortunately it was just too hot to play cricket this afternoon so we opted for a water game in the shade instead!

We hope all our friends at home are staying cool … We miss you!

First day of transition

It was lovely to meet the current year 2’s for their first day of transition this morning. We showed our amazing team work and resilience to try and build a spaghetti tower.

Then, we thought about what we want our classroom to be like a discussed our class norms. We came up with loads of ideas!

I can’t wait to see you all again tomorrow for some more exciting activities!
