Today in community crew Class 12 thought about how people celebrate Pride in the month of June. We listened and discussed the story ‘Tango makes three’ and I was really impressed with their kind and reflective thoughts about differences and how everyone should be proud of who they are. I love the artwork they then went on to produce.
Faith has made a lovely reading stone about her favourite book. I particularly enjoyed our discussion about the plot and why she likes it so much. Well done Faith and well done class 12 for all your wonderful book conversations that we’ve had this week.
As part of this week’s community crew, we wanted to take part in ‘national walking month’. We talked about the benefits of walking from a health aspect to our mental health. As you can see from the pictures we certainly enjoyed the fresh air, sunshine and time to chat. Great work team year 4.
A big well done to Lola, Dexter, Brooklyn, Bradley, Faith, Dante and Marcie for completing today’s 100g challenge. It is super that you have engaged with maths week! We’ve got flour, icing sugar, rice, pasta, cereal, dice and of course some lovely grapes!
WOW! Well done to everyone who took the time to celebrate maths by photographing maths in our community! We have some wonderful examples that I can’t wait to display around school.
Here are a few examples:
We will share more as the week goes on!
Wednesday’s maths challenge:
What does 100 grams look like? Can you measure out 100g into a food bag and bring it to school? Last year we looked at what 100 looks like and it will be great to compare 100 and 100g!
Don’t forget Friday’s maths challenge is our Maths Dress up day! We are raising money for NSPCC and our target is £500! We are asking for a donation of £1 (minimum).
Thank you once again for supporting our maths week! We have started well!
This week, year 4 have been writing acrostic poems about evacuation and the powerful emotions that evacuees felt. The vocabulary that the children have been using is fantastic! We felt this was a great opportunity to share this with their peers and to practice their performance skills. Beautiful work class 12.
