Learning legends in class 6

I was so happy today to be able to award 4 postcards to Radu and Shae for amazing maths work, to Reeva for her fantastic work with rhyming words and to Anais for her kindness. Is awesome to see how the children in our class are making our HoWLs part of their every day habits.

So proud of you guys!

We would like to invite parents and carers to join KS1 in a celebration of our Autumn term expedition … What will I do to be a Superhero in my Community?

On Thursday 2nd December, we will be serving tea and coffee in the hall from 8.45am before sharing our learning with you. We will then invite you to join us on a march to promote litter picking in the local area, an important message that the children in KS1 feel particularly passionate about sharing with everyone.

We hope you will be able to join us on the morning of Thursday 2nd December.

Kind regards,

everyone in the KS1 team 🙂

Celebrating difference in Class 6

Anti-bullying week began with our odd sock day today.

We celebrated difference, which sometimes is a cause of bullying behaviour and discussed the definition of bullying – unwanted, aggressive behaviour, either mental or physical, that happens on purpose, over and over again.

We all agreed that it shouldn’t happen and talked about what we should do if we feel we are being bullied.

Great conversations everyone x

Key stage 1 competition

As part of our celebration of learning for this current expedition, we would like the children to create their own pickets and signs which relate to recycling and putting litter in the bin.

We intend to use them as part of our march in the local community on Thursday 2nd December.

Please complete and bring your picket into school by Monday 29th November – thank you!

There will be a small prize in each class for the best design.

Can’t wait to see what you create,

Mrs Shaw and the key stage 1 team! X

First yellow t shirts of the year!

How lovely it was to all be back together for the first time in almost 2 years this morning when we held our Out of This World assembly. I was overjoyed to finally be able to reward Junior and Shae for their hard work and dedication since beginning year 1. I am positive they will be fantastic role models for the rest of our class in the coming week. Excellent job you two ! X

Children in Need – dress up day!

Next week we will be celebrating Children in Need on Thursday 18th November!

Thursday will be a dress up day where we are inviting children to wear something spotty and bright coloured! Any donations on the dress up day for Children in Need will be gratefully received.

Our school council are also holding a couple of competitions which will be running next week.

  1. Drawing of Pudsey competition
  2. Design a Children in Need T-shirt

Little Class 6 Riding Hoods

Our new class text for the last part of our expedition in Revolting Rhymes by Roald Dahl and the children had lots of fun reading his version of Little Red Riding Hood, watching the video and then using role play and mime to act it out. Although this way of expressing their learning is fairly new to them, they have taken to it like pros! Scan the QR code below and follow the link to see their video clips….and the Oscar goes to…. X

Maths superstars

Continuing with our maths week theme we have 3 new maths wizards in class 6.

Maddison, Bobby and Hunter blew us away today with their excellent knowledge of 2D and 3D shape in our geometry blast off this morning.

Super proud of you guys
