Year 3/4 Basketball Tournament!

On Friday, I had the pleasure of taking a group of children from Year 3 and 4 to Trinity to take part in an afternoon of Basketball. I was SO impressed with how well everyone worked together and with the children from the other school. The children listened to the coach really respectfully and gained some fantastic skills! Well done everyone!

Post Card Winners!

A huge shout out to our post card winners so far this week! It has been so lovely to hear lots of positive things being shared in crew each day. Lot’s of positive learning and achievements to celebrate – Well done everyone!

WE ARE MUSICIANS!

I have been blown away by how confident everyone in our Crew has been during our Music Case Study and this week has been no different. The children used Standard Notation to create a Music Telephone. They then practiced in groups and very bravely presented them to each other. It was great to see lots of group introducing rounds to their music telephones too. Well done everyone!!

Interactive learning

Thanks so much sonny for sharing your interactive globe with us. I really enjoyed the quiz and it was great to learn facts about other countries around the world. What a fantastic toy you have

Clock making fun in year 2

We have been practicing telling the time using o clock and half past. Some of us have even moved onto quarter past and quarter 2. Please practice these at home with your child too- they should all be bringing a clock home that they made. Thank you

This Week in Phonics…

Nursery crew are getting better at identifying words that rhyme and making up our own rhyming strings such as log, dog, frog, tog, wog and tip, lip, ship, dip, yip (this can include nonsense words too!). We have also been sharing lots of different books that rhyme such as Duck on a Truck to help us hear the rhyming couplets.

We also have a catchy song to sing when we find a pair of words that rhyme…. Why don’t you have a practice at home? We love singing this in our phonics sessions…

They both sound the same

They both sound the same, they rhyme!
(To the tune of jingle bells)

We’d love to hear about any rhyming you do at home through Google Classroom. Maybe you could upload a video of you singing the rhyming song or of your own rhyming string?🎶
