Our wonderful ‘Bucket Fillers’ Martha and Beau for being so kind and helpful to their friends and teachers. Thank you both for being amazing! ⭐️ ⭐️

Today’s crew challenge: Paper Cup Tower!

Can you make a paper cup tower without touching the cup? Well today, in crew Mumby, we did just that. The children were given string, elastic bands only to move cups from one place to another. I was really impressed with their collaborative skills and communication however I delighted to see the resilience shown when things didn’t go to plan!

So happy to be back together!

What an awesome day!

It was wonderful for us all to be back together in school today and to see all our friends again. We made these lovely cards for each other to share positive comments.

I must say Scarlett, I totally agree with what you have written in your card!

Well done for an amazing start everyone.

Platinum award

Today I have received a lovely email from the RDASH team that I wanted to share.

Congratulations!  You have achieved a PLATINUM award.

Good Afternoon

This is presented in recognition of your outstanding achievement. By participating in the flu vaccination programme 2020/2021 you protected your student’s health and wellbeing.

I would like to thank you and your colleagues for their support in particular your flexible approach and willingness to support the Immunisation Team during these very challenging times. Like schools, COVID 19 had a significant impact on how we delivered our service but by working effectively together we achieved our goals. It was extremely important all those eligible were protected from seasonal Flu to prevent further pressures on the NHS. Through your efforts you assisted us to vaccinate 67% of eligible children across the Doncaster area.

Crew Mumby Balloon Tower Challenge!

What do 20 balloons, a roll of sellotape and a length of string have to do with being Crew? This week, Crew Mumby grappled with producing the tallest tower they could. Our target was to work as a team and we discussed the importance of listening, team work, collaboration and compromise. Before the activity, we discussed our tactics and agreed on our roles within the team. We were then given 30 minutes to complete our towers before joining the circle to debrief our reflections. A super start to making the relationships in class even stronger than before.

Investigating Sound

The children in school have had a great time investigating sound this week. We have learnt about pitch and volume by completing a number of different experiments. It was great to see everyone having a go at using scientific language and explaining their findings.

Castles Project.

What a fantastic Design and Technology case study we have enjoyed in our Castle Walls expedition in year 2. The children have designed and built authentic castles with working drawbridges as you have seen in our blog posts this week. This afternoon the children participated in a silent gallery where they evaluated their friends work and then used their comments to produce thoughtful and helpful critiques.

Please enjoy this video which showcases their efforts.

Super proud of you guys!
