This morning during academic crew the children looked through their maths book and found a piece of work that they were proud of. They then wrote down what they were most proud of and gave themselves a praise for their work. It was lovely to see the children reflect on their work and be proud of their achievements. Well done Crew Jeeves some amazing work.

Reminder: Family Learning and Celebration of Learning
Wednesday 23rd March at 2pm will be our family learning event. Parents are invited to join their child in the school hall where Pastor Kevin from Thorne Pentecostal Church will be leading a short assembly on the story of Creation and how God made the world, linking to our current expedition of ‘In a world of possibilities will you make?‘ We will then be completing some short craft activities before finishing by 2.45pm.
Wednesday 30th March will be our Celebration of Learning starting at 2.15pm. This will be an opportunity for us to share some videos with you that show the children’s expeditionary learning in nursery so far. We hope we’ll be able to share some drinks and biscuits together afterwards too!
Please arrive at the Nursery entrance 10-15 minutes before the event start time. If you are unable to attend the children will still enjoy taking part with a member of the nursery staff team. If your child does not usually attend on a Wednesday afternoon you are very welcome to come along and join us!
A little help please?
Class 6 would like your help to collect materials for our final product please. We would be very grateful for…
Green plastic milk bottle tops,
Plastic carrier bags
Bath pouffes (is that what they’re called?)
Please could you send them in asap?
With many thanks for your continued support
Miss R
Academic Crew – SLC
In academic crew this week we looked at script building in preparation for the student led conference. The children looked at sentence stems to talk about their work and then found a piece of English work they were proud of and explained this to their partners.
They were all pretty nervous before doing this but in the debrief all said how much more confident they felt after talking this through and using this script.
Year 2 spellings W/C 7th March
This week we have been learning spellings using the ‘al’ and ‘il’ endings!
Here are the words to practise for next weeks spelling test..

Class 5 final product requests
For our final product this term, we are going to create a sculpture out of recycled materials. In class 5, we are going to use materials such as clothes, zips, buttons etc. If you have any of these items spare that would normally be going in the bin, please feel free to bring them in to help us create a beautiful piece of art. Our aim is to be artivists, raising awareness of the damages and environmental chaos caused by pollution and humans own impact!
ITEMS WANTED:
Zips (for sea anemones and jellyfish tentacles), denim (for fish and sea), buttons (for the sea bed), wool (for puffer fish and to sew materials together), hessian bags (for the sea bed). If anyone has an old transparent rain coat or something of similar material that would also be useful to create a jellyfish!
Thanks, Miss Good and class 5!
Class 4 postcards

Home learning

Year 5 visit Tropical World 🌎
On Friday, year 5 visited Tropical World in Leeds as part of our current expedition. The children enjoyed immersing themselves in the rainforest environment and linked this to their learning from school.During the workshop, the children demonstrated great recall by using our work in science to develop their understanding of animal classification. Great work year 5! Enjoy the pictures below:
