Nursery made feelings sticks…

The children enjoyed making feelings sticks with coloured ribbon and sticks to use during our CREW sessions. The children will use these to pass around in our circle time. When they are holding the feelings stick, it will be their turn to share and talk. We love our new feelings sticks and are thrilled to have an item we have ownership over to use in our Nursery CREW.

Well done Nursery Crew!

Nursery enjoying the outdoor area today…

We have loved having some dry weather today and getting outside to play for a little longer. The bikes, trikes and scooters are always a popular choice. We have also enjoyed making sand pies with a lovely ivy garnish, exploring filling and pouring and experimenting with capacity and dinosaur and farm animal small world play.

Nursery Bubble Fun!

The children have had a blast this week using their BIG movements to catch the bubbles. We have been developing our gross motor skills to support our fine motor skills. I think it’s clear from our faces that we have had so much fun!

Nursery say THANK YOU!

Wow! What a morning and a tremendous effort! Thank you everyone who came to support the ‘book and biscuit’ & toy sale event. Together with the sponsored walk we have raised whopping £900 for our EYFS expedition and Nursery resources. Thank you from the bottom of out hearts for your incredible support.

Nursery Toy and book sale!

The Nursery is all set up for the toy and book sale tomorrow morning 8.30 – 9.30 am. It will run alongside our book at a biscuit event. Bring some money and bags and grab a bargain to raise funds for our EYFS.

KS1 Story Club

Another fantastic story club this week. We enjoyed reading about Winnie the Witch celebrating the Chinese New Year and we found out about the different animals which represent each year in the Chinese tradition. Chinese New Year is going to be celebrated on 10th February this year and it will the year of the dragon! We also enjoyed making ourselves some Chinese lanterns just like we saw in our story. Well done boys and girls!

KS1 Community Crew Meeting – 1/2/2024

On Thursday, KS1 came together again to celebrate all things learning and HoWLs! Another fantastic week with lots of certificates and shout outs for those children achieving great things in all areas of learning and development. A big thank you to the parents and carers who could join us for the crew champion award and a big well done to Crew Hilton / Dutton on their hat trick … an impressive 3 weeks at the top of the attendance leaderboard – who will it be next week?

Muddy Play in Nursery next week…

The children have been really interested in digging, mud play and hunting for mini-beasts. We would love to explore this further next week. If you are happy for your child to be involved in mud play, digging and mini-beast hunting, please send your child with wellies.

If you have any spare wellies that you no longer need, Nursery would be very grateful for any donations.

Class 10s Tuesday! 📏✍️

Yesterday, Class 10 were practising their measuring skills and began to explore using rulers with different items around the class. This was to get used to the vocabulary and understand measurements fully.

We then finished our day off by finding the key features of a setting description ready to take some ideas for independent pieces of writing.
