Year 4 had a fantastic afternoon taking on parents and carers at rounders. There was some excellent teamwork, fielding and communication in this competitive encounter. Parents were narrow winners on this occasion and lifted the trophy.
Thank you to all of those involved! The children have loved it.
Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate our theme learning ‘do you fancy a change?’
Years 3&4 have really enjoyed this theme and having the opportunity to share their learning & their chocolate! Here are a few photos from the event. Please check back later on the year 3&4 blogs for more photos & videos!
We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did and we hope to see you all at our picnic in the park event this Sunday at midday!
A huge well done to the group of Year 4 children who went to complete the water Safety course at Hatfield Water Park.
These children are already in Stage 3 at swimming so were chosen to take part in this course where they learnt about the dangers of open water and how best to deal with this in case of an accident.
It was incredibly cold but the children showed sheer resilience and determination by getting to the end of the course.
They are all absolute super stars!!
Miss Laing and Mr Oldridge
Can I just say a huge well done to everyone who played tonight. I genuinely couldn’t be prouder. It’s not a sport we have been practising for long but I have seen huge improvements in each and everyone of you and it was a pleasure to watch you all play!
We had one team who were the overall winners, another who came third and our final team who came joint fifth. All schools who joined in were brilliant: King Edward, Marshland, Brooke, West Road and Hatfield Woodhouse; the children were a credit to their schools. All members of staff from the other schools commented on how well our players played and how they showed good sportsmanship! So there is 50 hps from me to everyone who played tonight!
As always, thank you to all parents and carers who came to watch and support our children and to the many staff who gave up their time to support- we couldn’t do these events without you!
Thank you again,
What a great term it has been so far! Enjoy a busy week off class 12!
Ben asked me to share this photo with “all his little mates at Green Top” and to thank years 3&4 again for his poem which he now has on display at home. He was really touched by the words. Ben is hoping to come back to Green Top really soon!
Trip letters will be going out tomorrow for Year 3/4’s visit to the York Chocolate Story on Monday 3rd June (Year 4) and Tuesday 4th June (Year 3).
On both days, we are due to return back to school for 3.30pm therefore you will receive two things that will need filling out and handing back to us giving permission for it going out of school hours.
Can you please fill in both consent forms, sign and hand them back to your child’s class teacher ASAP!
Thank you very much for your patience and continued support. It’s going to be an amazing day for the children!!
The Year 3/4 Team
A number of children from years 3&4 played in a bench ball tournament against Marshland this evening. I was so impressed with how well they played. We didn’t get the overall win but we managed to score lots of points over the course of the games.
Thank you as always to all the parents and carers who came to supper the children. It is hugely appreciated. We hope to see you all at the next game after half term!
