Class 8 science experiment 1: forces

The children learnt today about different forces and how they are a push or a pull. They then had the opportunity to work in teams to test the theory out with air (inside a balloon) pushing on air outside of the balloon to see what would happen. There was lots of fun and laughter but also lots of great learning! Super work class 8, hope you enjoyed our first experiment of science week!

Extended Study – Science Week – Day 1

What do you already know about changing state?

Build your knowledge by watching the video and link below:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zwj9r2p#zwthhcw

Can you demonstrate changing state with something you have at home?

E.g. You could freeze water and melt ice cubes, melt chocolate, boil water etc. Take photographs and send to your class teacher so we can celebrate your science learning!

Keep an eye out on the blog for tomorrows extended study challenge.

Green Top Science Week

Keep a look out on the blog this week for what we will be getting up to in our science weeks. We are planning to inspire the children with scientific experiments and visitors with scientific professions! We are very excited to see what the children know already and what they learn!

Year 2- fantastic park visit

Thank you so much to Thorne council who are trying to make our park a much better place for the children in our community. Green Top were invited to go along and help with some planting, putting up bird boxes and fairy houses, as well as talking to the workers at the play area and painting some stones that they will hide around the park for other people to find!

It was honestly such a great experience this morning and such an honour to be invited.

We can’t wait for the grand opening now!
