Captain Tom 100 Challenge! 🏅

This Friday, Friday 30th April, marks the beginning of the Captain Tom 100 Challenge which will continue until Bank Holiday Monday 3rd May.

The family of Sir Captain Tom Moore is inviting the world to take inspiration from his famous 100 laps around his garden to celebrate Tom’s life, his generosity of spirit and the hope and joy he brought to millions.

YOU can join this celebration and take part in the Captain Tom 100 by setting yourself your own challenge based around the number 100!

Let the number 100 be your inspiration and do something amazing, whether it’s..

100 Star Jumps

100 laps of your garden

100 minutes of gaming

Baking 100 cupcakes

Singing for 100 minutes.

We would love to see lots of you taking part and taking lots of photographs of your challenges. Please send any photographs or videos to [email protected] so we can celebrate your contributions on the blog.

Here is a video with more information about the fundraising event.

Dress up ideas:

Great Gymnastics!

On Thursday we had a wonderful afternoon in the sunshine for our PE lesson. The children started their gymnastics unit of learning. Starting with the importance of jumping and landing with bent knees. We then showed different ways to jump, twisting and tucking. As I’m sure you can imagine the children were very good at this.

We then moved onto rolls and practised log rolls and teddy bear rolls. Finally they were put into teams to collaborate to create a routine which they then performed to the class.

I was very proud of their confidence in performing.

well done Class 6, you are all SUPERSTARS

Have a great weekend

Craft, craft and more craft!

Class 6 have shown us how good they at craft activities this week. They have helped to transform the classroom but making cows, pigs, chickens, watermelons, oranges, the list is endless. They have been motivated to learn and are eager to find out about our new expedition. Great listening skills this week class 6. Thank you for your hard work.

Crafty Wednesday

This week so far in class 6, we have had so much fun in hook week! We’ve made hens, tractors, cows, and so much more. We can’t wait to finish off our paper plate pigs tomorrow. This term we are looking at the guiding question ‘what does the food we eat tell us about the world around us?’. So we are immersing ourselves into a farmyard setting and creating foods we might find while we are here!

Well done class 6, I can’t wait to see what other amazing creations we make this week!

Mindfulness and our surroundings

This morning we had a wonderful mindfulness session. We practised our breathing, discussed why and how we might use a mindfulness activity and then headed outside to see what we could feel, see, smell and hear around us! I can’t wait to dive into some more well-being activities this week with our Crew!

RND FUN!

We have had so much fun today for Red nose Day class 6. Pin the nose on the panda and drawing what makes us smile.
Thanks for the laughs and smiles today. Have a great weekend!
