Look at how creative Y1 are today!

Well done on your creativity today Year 1.  We had paints, felt pens, pencil crayons, collage and chalk.  We had fish ranging from small to extra extra large.  We had great family teamwork and even a Rainbow Fish to decorate the wall of Harry’s shed!  Here are just a selection of your photos to show your awesome learning.

Terrific Thursday in Year 1 today

Well done Year 1 another great day of learning!  You have all been learning legends again today and I can not choose just one.  You are all Have ago Henry’s with your work!

I notice…you have all worked hard on your doubling skills in maths.
I praise…the amazing rainbow fish you have produced
I wonder…who will do their neatest writing tomorrow and post a picture to show us?

Enjoy the rest of the afternoon in the sunshine 🙂

It’s a wonderful Wednesday for Y1

Another day of awesome learning as well as time to enjoy the sunshine.  You have all been learning legends today!  Well done for all being ‘Can-do-Colins’ in our tasks on this wonderful Wednesday of sunshine.

Look below to see just some of the amazing home learning that has been shared with us today :)))

Well done to everyone in Year 1 who has completed learning activities today.  We are all super proud of you all, whether you accessed the google classroom and shared your learning there, logged on to teach your monster to read, played on ttrockstars, did a PE workout or completed a whole range of practical activities at home.   You are ALL ‘Motivated Moe’s in our eyes!

Here is a selection of some of the photographs of work shared with us today.

Keep smiling everyone :)))

Good Morning Year 1!

Good Morning to everyone in Year 1!  How are you all feeling today?

I have uploaded today’s work on to the google classroom and on to the home learning platform on the school website.  If you have not joined the google classroom yet then you should have an invitation in your email inviting you.

I have also put a post on the google classroom asking how you are feeling today.  Please try and respond on here or on there before 11am so that we know you are safe and well.

If you have any problems please email [email protected]

Take care

Mrs Jackson and Miss Rodgers

Teach Your Monster to Read

Some parents have reported that they were unable to log-in to this game or that the app is now charging a fee to download.

We have looked into this and you child is able to access this for free on a computer and only through this link (not through the main website page):

www.teachyoumonstertoread.com/u/3069607

You can then use your child’s login details.

If you would prefer to use this on a phone or tablet you will be able to download it from the store but it is currently charging 99p for the download. You can then log in using your child’s details. Please make sure you type the username and then the number next to the star. No password is required in the 3rd box.

How to access google classroom for Y1 parents

Starting from Monday Miss Rodgers and I will be adding daily learning tasks to the ‘google classroom’ which is an online learning aspect of our school website.  To access your child’s learning tasks you will need to sign into Google Docs on their behalf.

To sign into Google Docs from a tablet, phone or laptop follow the instructions below.  Further instructions for other devices can be found on the school website home learning page.

  1. Search internet for ‘greentopschool.co.uk’ or enter the school web address: Greentopschool.co.uk
  2. Once on to school web page go to ‘log in’
  3. Enter log in details – user name: john.smith (child’s first name full stop and last name, no spaces, no capital letters).
  4. Enter password: password (all lower case)
  5. From here you will need to open your child’s emails and click to accept the invitation to join the Year 1 classroom.
  6. To access the google classroom after this initial time you will need to open your child’s google docs, click on the 9 dots next to the search bar and open the classroom.

If at any point you have any questions about accessing google docs, log in details or how to use google classroom, please email me on [email protected].

Many thanks for your patience and continued support at this uncertain time.

Mrs Jackson
