Funky Friday!

Another week of home learning completed! Well done to everyone in Class 7 including your grown ups too! You’ve worked hard and achieved lots again! It’s been lovely to see so many of you on our hangouts this week.

Today…

I notice that you can continue repeated patterns and some of you have used this to create Easter eggs too!

I praise you have used conjunctions in sentences.

I wonder can you explore your garden this weekend? The sun is supposed to be shining again!

Our learning legend today is JESSE! Well done! You have shown over the week that you are a Stickability Stan and have completed more brilliant work today! I am very proud of you Jesse!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and continue to stay safe with your families!

See you next week

Today’s learning legend is Archie! Archie you have impressed me for the last two weeks with your work ethic and your positivity. Always happy to see us all on a hangout with lots to tell us! Oh and I love the sheep you made today!

Today…

I notice lots of children found pairs of objects around the house today. We did it too and it’s amazing how many we actually found!

I praise you have read and answered questions carefully in your Easter reading comprehension.

I wonder can you can you continue to practise your times tables. Maybe even use times tables rockstars!

See you on the hangout in morning at 9.15am

Easter is coming in Class 7 🐣

Look at how busy some of the children in Class 7 have been. Mrs Roe and I have been so proud of all of the children that have sent us their learning to look at today. We’ve had so many and it’s been fabulous.

I notice- In maths, children have been able to use different shapes to make an easter picture and have found lots of 2D and 3D shapes around their homes.

I praise- how creative children have got in their Expedition learning they’ve been so far this week. Love all of the different materials that have been used.

I wonder- In English, if children can continue to practice using adjectives in expanded noun phrases. Have a go at describing some objects around your house.

Learning Legend- Monday 30th!

Monday’s learning Legend for Class 7 was Oliver Rollason for his amazing Easter poem.

You have been a real Light Bulb Leo on this and I can see that you’ve worked so hard to find the correct rhyming words and I also love that it’s an acrostic poem too.

Keep up the hard work Oliver! 🌟

Learning Legend- Tuesday 31st!

It’s been a difficult choice today after seeing so many amazing pieces of learning but I was especially blown away by Oscar Duckitt today and his maths learning.

Well done Oscar on your Easter themed picture linked to shape. You have really thought about how to put the pieces together and just to finish it off you have labelled the shapes too. What a super star! Keep up your brilliant efforts!

Week 2 plans for home learning

As you will know next week and the week after should have been the Easter holidays. However, Green Top will remain open to key worker families. Therefore there will still be people available to answer your calls, texts and emails Monday to Friday 8am-5pm.

We will be continuing with Google hangouts and Google classroom in the same way we have this week and there will still be work set for English and Maths skills lessons daily. In addition there will be fun activities to complete as part of the Expedition learning plans. It would be great to catch up with you using one of these tools each day. We encourage you to have some down time too but don’t want to lose your enthusiasm and engagement in the home learning success we’ve had this week. It is such an uncertain time and all staff, children and parents who’ve spoken to me have really valued the positive impact the communication with friends and staff has had on the Green Top children and wider community. Unfortunately, no one knows how long this period of enforced school closure will last for and lots of you have asked me for more ideas of things to do at home when you’re stuck in the house.

We’d like to hear from you as often as possible and therefore will continue with our safe and well checks next week. As always if you need to talk or have anything to ask we’re at the end of the phone, email or text service.

Hope to see you all in hangouts or google classroom next week, send your teachers/phase leaders lots of photos too and look out for next weeks challenge for feel good Friday.

Thanks

Mrs Claira Salter
