We are so proud to celebrate some of our Year 4 girls who are part of the Club Thorne Under 9s girls team and are the first all girls team to represent Thorne! They start their first league this Saturday and we couldn’t be more proud!
Good luck girls!
We kick started Hook Week this week by looking at who the Romans were, where they came from and where they conquered! I was so impressed with the prior knowledge and I’m excited for our expedition!
Now we know who the Romans were, we are going to have fun creating mosaics and weapons as well as enjoying some gladiator games and a Roman battle!
What a great start to Hook Week by Class 10. We wondered who the Romans were, where they came from and what they did for us? So what better way to learn about the Romans than research about them. We did this collaboratively and were able to create some really factual anchor charts that we will be able to use!
I cannot fault Class 10s start to the week – it really was super!
Year 5 PE will take place on Thursday afternoons. This term’s PE sessions will be outdoors so please make sure your child has the correct and appropriate kit.
Thank you,
Year 5 Crew.
This morning, we practiced our cursive handwriting before creating a piece of artwork with a quote from ‘The Lorax’. Everyone created some beautiful pieces that are displayed in our classroom but these guys were especially proud of their efforts! Well done everyone!
A huge shout out to Erin for being the first postcard winner of Hook Week. She has created a fantastic piece of art today using artwork from The Lorax. I was blown away by how beautiful her handwriting is! Well done Erin! 🌟
Class 8 walked to a local shop today to help our community by packing their bags. The staff said that our children were so polite and were a great help. Well done guys, you’ve made me proud again

We’ve started our art work for The Great Fire of London. We have created backgrounds with flames and started to cut out some silhouettes to show some buildings. Keep checking the blog to see the finished art work this week.
Keep up the great work class 7!
As part of Hook Week, Year 3 and 4 will be having a Roman sports day tomorrow afternoon as part of our Hook Week. Please, can children come in their uniform but bring PE kits in a bag ready to change into later in the afternoon for the Gladiator Games.
Thanks! 🙂
