Crew Barnett First Week Back Fun!
Y1 PE day
PE will be on Tuesday this term. Please send in outdoor kit and trainers so we can make use of our playground while we still have good weather. We suggest that you send in PE kit on Monday morning and we will keep it in school until Friday. In this way we have a change of clothes for the children should it be needed.
Many thanks

End of our first week in class 6
Another fantastic day today to round off our first week back. We continued our climate emergency learning by studying what is happening to our ice-caps because of global warming caused in part by the actions of human beings. We played with our own iceberg and made posters and a flyer to show what we had learned. We are also in the process of editing a video which also sends the important message of looking after our beautiful world.
See you next week class 6 x
Class 8 Shaw Fabulous First Week Back Friday
I have enjoyed this week with the children in class 8 so much! It has been such a pleasure to get to know them and we have had some very exciting experiences! Today has been all about team building where we played the hoop game, thought about what we do that makes us a superhero and then Mr Kershaw set us up an assault course, which was lots of fun.
Have a lovely weekend and see you next week!
Also, thanks so much everyone for 100% attendance in class 8 this week…I am so impressed!

Class 9 – full of kindness and positivity
Here is a glimpse into the children’s hard work this week designing, critiquing and producing their final piece for our first week back product! More exciting things to come with this too!
Class 9 – tricky thesaurus work
To help the children build upon their own vocabulary and also to ensure our kindness and positivity rocks didn’t all say the same thing 😅, we introduced a little vocabulary task using a thesaurus. The children had to use a thesaurus to look up our popular words and write down as many synonyms they could find for each. It was tricky but they definitely did a good job! Well done guys!

Class 9 – what Crew means to us…
Class 9 were faced with the question this week to try a work out what crew means to them. To help us with this task we went on a little tour around the school to see if we can see Crew in action. This included children and staff, full classes, groups and just passing children and adults in the corridor. We were all really impressed at what the children in class 9 were able to pick up on around their school and how amazingly confident they were at talking about crew in various places around school.
What definitely stood out to the children in our school is that they saw so much kindness, sharing, encouragement, love and respect from the children to each other, children to staff and staff to children, that these words were definitely the main focus of our feedback and discussion after in our debrief circle. We also posted some shout out certificates on our school shout-out boards for some of the groups that really stood out to us! Amazing work guys! Really was lovely to hear you talk so beautifully about crew 🥰.

Class 9 – Just hooping around
Our first team building session this week was pass the hoop! The children were brilliant in this and really understood and took on board our discussions around what good team work should look like, sound like and feel like. Well done guys this was definitely a great success!

Crew Knowles – Bracelet Making
We ended our first week back by making bracelets today and writing lovely postcards for each other. We then read out the postcards and presented the bracelets to each other. It was so lovely to hear the things said and to see the smile on everyone’s faces. Our goal was to make everyone feel special and I think we did that!
