Thanks to our Year 6s for reading a story to Class 7! 🙂
Class 7 Science Experiment
This week, in writing, we have been working on the Three Little Pigs. As part of science, we thought that the story linked perfectly to materials and building. We decided to test the best materials to build a house to withstand the Big, Bad Wolf. Some materials were far better than others. Other materials were tricky to build a house with. This required great collaboration, which became better and better as our experiment went on! The wooden and plastic blocks were the best material to use.

Year 5 Readers
Class 7 were lucky to have some Year 5s read us a very funny story during our reading week! 🙂
Year 2 library visit!
This week, as part of reading week, Year 2 visited the library and braved the weather to have a good read. We loved being able to draw on book trees, read with our friends and listen to a good story. Some of us even helped library staff by keeping shelves tidy and scanning books. We loved our trip to the library and can’t wait to go again!
Class 7 – Faith Day!
Today, Class 7, we have been learning about religion. We have learnt what religion is, as well as the 6 main religions. We then wanted to celebrate faith day by creating posters around religion!
Year 2 – Martin Lamb Castle Talk!
Today, Year 2 had a special expert visitor Martin Lamb. Martin spoke to Year 2 about castles and how they were made. He even brought in bricks to let us ‘destroy’ William the Conqueror’s castle. Amongst the ‘destruction’, we learnt many new facts. These included the fact that round castles were harder to siege. We even learned about new weapons such as catapults. All in all, it is fair to say Year 2 loved their expert visitor.
Class 7 – eBook day!
Today was eBook day, so Class 7 chose two books to read online. We loved hearing about Harold the Cat and Muffin the Kittens adventures!
Class 7 – Bayeux Tapestry!
Today, Class 7 have been learning about William the Conqueror. He invaded Britain in 1066 and fought in the Battle of Hastings. We learned about the battle through the Bayeux Tapestry. So, what better way to understand it more than to create our own version?
Class 7 – Castle research!
Class 7 have been learning about the different types of castles and worked hard researching facts about them. We learned about Motte & Bailey castles, stone keep castles and, finally, concentric castles! Well done on such super knowledge, Class 7!
Have a great weekend, Class 7! 🙂
Class 7 Castle Work!
Wow! What can I say Class 7? You blew me away with your beautiful work on castles and your focus was tremendous. EVERYONE worked so hard and did a great job. Keep up the great work, guys!
