Yesterday, Class 10 were practising their measuring skills and began to explore using rulers with different items around the class. This was to get used to the vocabulary and understand measurements fully.
We then finished our day off by finding the key features of a setting description ready to take some ideas for independent pieces of writing.
Class 10 loved their New Year meal, especially when they were able to dance with Mrs Hardman to the YMCA!
For the first couple of days back, Class 10 have been researching their knowledge of polar bears by working collaboratively on building up their knowledge of these incredible creatures.
Class 10 then got their craft on and started making their very own polar bear decorations. These looked really great and will immerse our classroom!
No children were harmed in this polar bear encounter!
On our second day of Hook Week, we have continued to be creative and make decorations that we can then use for our room. We’ve made some really lovely polar bear hand prints.
This week we are immersing ourselves into a polar bears environment and working really hard to use lots of different skills and materials. Today we are writing poetry all about the beautiful animal but we are learning that they are in danger…
I can’t wait to continue our crafting journey and find out even more about polar bears, we might even find out how we can help them!
What a great day Class 10 had celebrating Christmas yesterday, with their Christmas lunch and time in the snow dome!
What a treat it was for Year 3 and 4 to be able to go and watch the film Elf at the Savoy cinema. Thank you to the friends for helping organise this great morning out. We had that much fun we only managed to get one photo!
In community Crew, we were able to celebrate the successes of those who participated in the dodgeball tournament last Friday. Again, we are really proud of how well they did and represented themselves.
If kits have not been returned yet, then please return them to me! 🙂
I would just like to give a massive shout out to our Year 3 and 4 pupils who represented Green Top in our Trust dodgeball tournament! What a super set of performances you put in! There were some really really tight games and I think it is fair to say that fun was had by all.
Most importantly, the children represented the school and themselves really well. Thank you to the adults who took our players to the tournament – it is really appreciated!
On Friday (1st Dec), year 3 will be doing their spelling touchdown, below are the words that we will be spelling so if you could practise with the children at home. There are lots of inventive ways to practise spelling; rainbow writing, pyramid writing, look-read-cover-write-check… These words are a mixture of year 3/4 common exception words, alongside some words that we have used throughout our expedition!
