This afternoon Year 1 talked about the importance of exercising and checked their pulse to see if it changed following exercise.
hopefully we’ve not worn them out too much

Thanks so much to everyone that has already encouraged their child to read at home and complete our reading quiz about their book.
Don’t forget that there is a money prize at the end of it and the more quizzes children complete, the more times they can be put into the draw!

The children in year one spotted that the dragon egg in the quad had moved today so we went out to investigate. The children were shocked to see that a baby dragon had hatched out of the egg. We talked about if we thought it was a boy or a girl and if it was friendly or not. The children also sang the dragon a lullaby to help it fall to sleep!
Today in maths we have been practicing our measuring skills. We started off by looking at non-standard measurements before practicing measuring in centimetres.
Well done to the children at home who also joined in and sent pictures to share with us.
We have some more measuring challenges for you tomorrow!
This morning the children enjoyed practicing their common exception words. We wrote the words as many times as we could in 3 minutes using as many different colours as possible.
I wonder how many of the words you can remember?
This afternoon we have created castles using lollipop sticks.
I think they look fantastic!
take a look at how fabulous our corridor and classrooms look in our castle themed expedition. The staff and children in year 1 have worked really hard to make everything look like a castle.
We hope you like it!
The year 1 team.
We have been practicing our phase 5 tricky words during our phonics lessons for the past two weeks. Yesterday the children chalked as many tricky words as they could remember on the carpet in 2 minutes.
Remember practice makes perfect!
Well done to those Year 1 children who have been learning at home today. You have shown you understand what the different hands on a clock mean and you have wrote the ending to our story George and the Dragon. I have really enjoyed reading them this morning.
