Out Of This World

BIG WELL DONE to Elizabeth this week for her amazing attitude to learning, earning her our OOTW certificate. Elizabeth has been working hard to take pride in her learning, making good choices in lessons to work with new people, asking questions and answering them too! Keep up the hard work, superstar!

Maths maths maths!

Class 5 are all mathed out today. Not only do we all look totally awesome in our mathematical themed outfits, but we have worked so hard in our maths lesson too. We looked at place value and representing numbers with tens and ones. We worked with different equipment then practised doing it ourselves, drawing the tens and ones! Well done to everyone for your super efforts!

Becoming Geographers!

Today we started looking at Geography and what it is that we might be looking at in our new case study…

After working hard to complete the jigsaw, class 5 realised they were looking at a map of the world!
We found the UK and lots of other awesome countries. Then we thought about what we already know and what we might want to learn too! We can’t wait to find out more about the world and how people are affecting it…

Class 5 champions!

WOW to some awesome children in class 5 today!

Macky has been racking up those HOWL points over the past week and has ended up with the most! He’s definitely displayed all of our HOWLs and has been taking beautiful pride in all of his learning.

Hunter and Aurora have been chosen as Crew O’Neill and Crew Good’s BE KIND champion this week. These two always keep our classroom tidy and are super kind crew members to each other. Always using their manners, being respectful too!

Elizabeth is our WORK HARD champion this week. Her attitude to learning has been excellent, she’s really making some great choices and producing some amazing writing. She is responding so well to critique and feedback and really starting to engage in her learning.

Maya has been chosen as our GET SMART champion this week as she has been on fire!!! She’s been so active every day and working hard to take pride in her work.

Keep up the hard work class 5, you’re all superstars!!!!

Digital Leaders

Notice for all students in Year 2 to Year 5!

Students in Year 2, 3, 4 and 5 have an amazing opportunity to become a Digital Leader within their class.

This is a fantastic opportunity for children to develop their own individual skills when it comes to the latest technology. Children who are successful will get the opportunity to visit XP East and potentially the Apple Store to have further training on how to use technology including iPads, MacBooks and some of the other great products that are used throughout school. Our Digital Leaders will then become the experts who can then pass on their knowledge to others.

Below is a link to the Digital Leaders website where you can find out further information.

https://sites.google.com/xpeast.org/digital-leader-applications/home

Applications will need to be sent to Mr Taylor by Thursday 3rd February explaining why you would make a fantastic Digital Leader. This can be done in a format of your choice including a letter, slides or even a video showcasing your IT skills.

We look forward to receiving your applications!

KS1 superstars!

We have had an amazing week in KS1. Lots to celebrate…

Lots of people have been working so hard in their learning, have shown that they are kind crew members and have been making good choices. We have had some awesome readers, getting or reader of the week as well as lots of reading certificates that have been achieved too!

Crew Rodgers and Crew Good won joint attendance this week, with 100% so get to keep Paddington and Jemima for the week! I wonder who will get Paddington or Jemima next week?

We are all so proud of the children! Thank you to everyone for continuing to work hard, get smart and be kind! Keep up the hard word, and maybe it could be YOU next week?

Staying safe online!

Class 5 reminded ourselves how to stay safe online in crew yesterday, and made some beautiful pictures that show people being kind to others online, just like we would in person, others drew pictures to show asking our trusted adults for help if we get stuck or see something we are unsure of and some people drew the difference between right and wrong whilst using computers and being online. I am so glad we all know how to stay safe, even whilst we are online!
