On Friday, we explored using chalk pastels to create different effects. The children were very creative at coming up with their own ideas; Dexter made a fab lion and Evan a Lochness Monster! I loved the heart images created by Lola, Courtney, Bryona and Kianna. Well done everyone for working hard.

Maths Superstars
Today we celebrated our efforts towards improving our maths skills. Lots of the children have been downloading and playing the Numbots and TTRockstars apps and practising their maths skills. Some of the children have also been ultra competitive and come in to school each morning buzzing about their new achievements and comparing scores.
Today we celebrated the children’s achievements so far in our first certificate presentation.
Spencer won the TTRockstars certificate for ’Most Coins Earned’ so far.
Phoenix won the Numbots certificate for ’Most Minutes Played’. Jude was in 2nd place and Spencer in 3rd.
Lots of children also received certificates for passing stages when playing in the story mode.
Well done Class 6 I am so proud of all the effort you are putting into your learning at home as well as at school!

Y5/6 Community Meeting award winners

Year 2 Sunflowers
Today in G block year 2 have had a lovely morning painting sunflowers, they’re not quite finished yet but can’t wait to see the finished piece next week!

Class 7 Pets Presentation in shared reading
In our shared reading sessions we have been reading a non-fiction book called Pets. To help with the children’s comprehension skills we each gave a presentation with 5 top tips on how to care for a pet. I learned that you should not let shadows fall across a fish’s tank! Handy to know! Thank you class 7.
Class 11 Seed Dispersal Posters! 🌱
Today, Class 11 have been creating their own anchor charts to help them understand how seeds are dispersed, the variety of ways this happens and why this happens. We worked well collaboratively so that we could really get smart in this part of our Expedition!
