Pancake Day :)

Some chefs in the making …

We really tested our maths skills by scaling up recipes to make enough pancakes for everyone. Then we used the equipment to help us weigh and measure the ingredients using g and ml.

Because our pancakes were so delicious were going to write the recipe and method down for next time 🙂

Homework of the Week

Again another fantastic week in nursery for our homework day! I am so proud to see the children showing confidence as they talk to each other about their home learning and experiences. This week I would like to say a huge well done to

Harper-  for her out of school achievement at dance

Ethan-  for his model fire engine

Charlie Walton- made a thank you card for Mrs Lake and Miss Smith
Nathaniel- made thank you cards for Junior and Harley for being amazing friends
Bonnie- remembering her address in case of an emergency
Jack- homework of the week- marathon touch and sight counting

researching the past

This afternoon class 8 have been researching the old cinema in Thorne using different sources of information. Everyone has loved using the chromebooks to discover facts about how this building has changed over the years.

Year 4 Swimming Reminder

Class 12 will be swimming tomorrow – 1:30-2:30 and be back at school for 3 O’Clock.

Children are required to wear a dark and plain swimming costume or trunks.

They will need a towel.

They will change back into their uniform – no other clothes needed.

No nail varnish or any jewellery is allowed in the pool.

Goggles are not required – however can take but all children will be asked and encouraged to try without them so their eyes get used to being open in water to build confidence if faced in this situation.

If consent form not yet back please bring in tomorrow – your child will unfortunately not be able to enter the pool until the consent form is received.

Many thanks 🙂

Amazing Home Learning

I am amazed by the quality of home learning this term! Jayden, Amelia, Oliver, Myles and Jake have blown me away with their effort and enthusiasm to our current exploration. Well done guys!

Crew Mumby Reading Raffle Winners!

In class 15, we have been taking part in a reading challenge in a drive to improve our reading skills. If the children scored over 90% in their comprehension quiz or vocabulary quiz then they received a raffle ticket. As it was the first day back we held the draw for last term. The lucky winners for Spring term 1 were Jayden, Hattie, Ewan and Jake.

Jake and Jayden chose Arsenal snoods kindly donated by a contact at Arsenal F.C

Hattie chose headphones, again donated by Arsenal and Ewan chose the huge bar of Toblerone!

Well done to everyone in class 15 who had tickets in the draw. I have been really impressed by the enthusiasm to read books in Accelerated Reader time.
