Spelling river

Class 8 have been practicing their new spelling words for this week. Words that end in ‘il’ or ‘al’ such as pencil or animal.

I can see a huge improvement in spellings within the children’s writing. Thanks so much for your support at home with this…its having such a positive impact!

Scrapheap challenge

We began our new case study today, which is art and we have been looking into artists and the types of sculptures that they have made.

I put a huge pile of rubbish into the middle of the classroom and the children enjoyed creating their own sculptures.

They only had 10 minutes but still managed to create a piece of art that they were all proud of…look at some of these masterpieces…

Well done class 8, Mrs Shaw x

Red Nose Day 🔴

Friday 18th March 2020 is Red Nose Day in the UK. At Green Top we will be raising money for the event by selling red nose’s. Red nose’s will go on sale from tomorrow and school councillors will be bringing them to each class in the mornings, priced at Β£1.50. On the day, we will also be raising money by wearing something red and bringing in a Β£1 donation. To go along with this, the school council have also thought of some activities that we will be doing in the afternoon.

Clock making fun in year 2

We have been practicing telling the time using o clock and half past. Some of us have even moved onto quarter past and quarter 2. Please practice these at home with your child too- they should all be bringing a clock home that they made. Thank you
