Year 1 Wonderful Work Wednesday 3.6.2020

Today has been filled with hedgehog’s and Butterflies in Year 1!! Aren’t they spectacular?!

Children have been working hard again today to create life cycle’s of our key expedition animals and making wonderful collage’s as well as continuing to partition tens and ones in maths so that they could add 2 digit numbers together. There’s nothing that these guys can’t do-clever clogs!!

Learning Legend’s in Year 1 today are:

Josephine for her adorable collage of an owlet. She’s been an Exploring Eddie and used cotton wool as well as scrunching paper to make it look amazing! Well done!!

Emilea for her fantastic book that she’s made called ‘The Life of a Hedgehog’. She worked hard to ensure all of the facts were written in full sentences and punctuated correctly and EVEN read the book to us on a video. A real Connecting Connie. Well done!!

and

Toby for his beautiful butterfly made from tissue paper and his paper plate life cycle. You’ve been a Motivated to carefully record the facts about a butterfly and have even drawn little pictures to match the facts. It’s fab! Well done!!

Super KS1 expedition work in school today

Wow! Today I have been blown away by the amazing Science and Art work the children have produced for our expedition.  As well as fabulous work, the way the children in school have adjusted to our ‘new normal’ is just fantastic to see.  I am super proud of you all.  You are all learning legends in my eyes!!

Check some of the wonderful life cycles they have produced and beautiful and creative art work.

Year 1 Terrific Tuesday learning 2.6.2020

Well done Year 1 on your amazing Owl collages and life cycles from today’s expedition learning. I think it’s safe to say that you’re all well and truly hooked back in after half term now! Look at these, wow!!!

Children have also been busy in their maths learning too where they have been learning to count more than and less than as well as partitioning 2 digit numbers to solve addition questions.

I’m so impressed!!!

Year 1 Learning legends for Tuesday are:

Florrie and Luna

Both girls created a short clip explaining their versions of a life cycle. Florrie’s was the life cycle of a butterfly and Luna’s was the life cycle of an owl. I was blown away by how confident both girls spoken about their life cycles and the vocabulary they used. Also, both created and designed their life cycle’s very differently and it really captured my attention.

Well done girls, keep up the brilliant work. You are both Light Bulb Leo’s and Motivated Moe’s in your learning today.

and

Isla

I was really impressed by Isla’s life cycle of an owl and how she used different materials to create this. Some were natural from the garden and in other areas Isla used her fantastic drawing skills.

Well done Isla, you’ve been an Exploring Eddie today!!

Keep up the great work everyone!

Shout Out!!

A huge thank you to Lewis and Phil for sharing these pictures with us.

They are tracking the progress of this little caterpillar that they have found in their very own garden. How amazing is this? They have promised to keep us updated with how the caterpillar grows. If you look closely, you can already see from one day how much the caterpillar has changed…

Thank you so much boys, this is very exciting!!

Year 1 Marvellous Monday 1.6.2020

Here is just a glimpse of some of the Year 1 learning that we’ve seen today on google classroom. How fantastic is this?!

Well done everyone we are so proud of you all for trying so hard on all of your learning today. As well as producing beautiful expedition learning, Year 1 have also been working really hard to partition their numbers and count on from certain numbers too.

Learning Legends in Year 1 are…

Marcus G for being a real Motivated Moe in his learning today. He was up and on it first thing this morning partitioning his numbers and creating his amazing collage.

and

Robyn H for being an Exploring Eddie in her expedition learning today. She worked incredibly hard to use a variety of materials today such as painting, feathers, pom poms, felt shapes and also calling upon her drawing skills.

Keep up the great work everyone!!

Mrs Faulding and Miss O’Neill 🙂 xx
