Evacuated from Green Top

This week year 3 had a walk to the train station where we talked about what it might be like for children being evacuated in the war. It was great to be out of school and we were even lucky enough to see a train.

Little lost evacuees

Today the children had to put themselves in a shoes of a 1940s evacuee child. Leaving home to go to the country with only the help of their teacher to find them and deliver them to a new home.

Here they are looking all heartbroken and worried about the thought of it happening to lots of children all those years ago.

Luckily for them, we all arrived back at school ready for home time where heir parents and carers were there to pick them up.
