GREEN TOP’S GOT TALENT

As many of you know annually we run a Green Top’s Got Talent contest, this year this will need to be done virtually.

Anyone wishing to enter has until the closing date below to prepare their act, video it and send it to the [email protected] email address.

Dependent on the number of entries we receive we will either have ‘heats’ in phases and a final of the top 3 from each heat. Or we will run one whole school competition for the final.

Mrs Overson and I will approach some independent judges to decide on the winners.

All children entering will receive a medal an certificate.

All talents are welcome we have had singers, dances, gymnasts, comedians, martial arts routines, magicians and BSL performances in the past among many others. You can choose something and enter it.

The video sent to Mrs Overson should be no more than 3 minutes long and social distancing guidance should be followed during your clip. All entries must be received by Monday 22nd June at 5pm.

We look forward to sharing the compilation of entries with you all later that week.

Good Luck!

Tremendous Tuesday for Year 1!

Another busy day in Year 1 today! In english children have been drawing, painting or making their own baby owls like the ones from our new text as well as thinking of lots of different and exciting adjectives to describe them too!!

Well done everyone!

Today’s Year 1 Learning Legends are:

Frankie for being a Light Bulb Leo today and thinking of great adjectives to go with his owls. Frankie also wrote a lovely sentence to match too! You super star!

and

Macey for being an Exploring Eddie today making her owl from a toilet roll tube and lots of cotton wool. It looks so realistic and must have taken a lot of time to cover all of the cardboard up! Well done sweetie!!!

Motivated Monday’s in year 1!

A busy day in Year 1 today. We started our new text ‘Owl Babies’ and the children have worked hard to think about how the characters might be feeling and have explained why.

In maths, children have looked at light and heavy objects and know how which is which on the scales!

We’ve had a few different things going on in expedition today from baking hedgehog bread to looking at different pitch and sounds in music as well as instruments used to looking at busy bees and creating/composing our own pieces of music ready for our final product!

A special thanks to Robyn/ Robyn’s mum for sending in a picture of their little hedgehog visitor in the garden last night. They certainly weren’t camera shy!!

Our learning legends in Year 1 today are:

Etta for being an Exlploring Eddie today and making hedgehog bread. She said that they tasted yummy!! I’m just sad that I couldn’t try one Etta! Delicious!

and

Amber for being a Connecting Connie in her brilliant piece of music that she has composed today that represents hedgehogs scurrying between gardens. It’s fab!! I can just imagine the hedgehogs running around after listening to that!
