Wonderful Wednesday in Year 1

Another day of fun and learning in year 1. We love to see what you are getting up to so we can celebrate with you.  You are all learning legends in my eyes!

I notice…lots of super fit children doing obstacle courses.
I praise…beautiful work on ‘signs of Spring’
I wonder…whether any grown ups won snakes and ladders in your maths work today

Look at some of our amazing work on ‘signs of Spring’.

Well done girls for your hard work

This afternoon Maya and Amber have been painting pictures for Doncaster hospital. Their Great Grandad was treated on the Mallard Ward last year. The Mallard ward have recently had to move location in the hospital and so the girls have painted them some pictures to liven up their walls until they get settled in and hopefully brighten up the staff and patients day.
Well done girls for thinking of others and helping our Local Community.

Bedtime Story

Hi everyone

I thought Year 1 might enjoy hearing a story at the end of each day so from Monday to Friday at around 6pm I will post a video on our Google Classroom thread of me reading a couple of chapters of the Pig Diaries.

The first installment is on now.

See you soon

Stay safe

Year 1 learning today

It has been lovely to hear from so many of our Year 1 boys and girls today.  It might be the first day of what should be our Easter Holidays but so many of you have completed tasks today and I am super impressed.  It has been fantastic to see all the photographs uploaded to our google classroom and to hear about all the fun family activities you are doing as well.  Sofia even went on a real egg hunt like in our story ‘We’re going on an egg hunt’.

Here are a few pictures from today’s learning.

Well done Guys! :))

A fabulous Friday in Y1

Well done Year 1 another fabulous day of learning.  The Year 1 Staff have been blown away with the amount of learning you have done this week and we are so proud of you all.  Everyone in Year 1 is a learning Legend in our eyes.

Here is a small selection of the different learning that has taken place today.

Enjoy a restful weekend with your families xx

Week 2 plans for home learning

As you will know next week and the week after should have been the Easter holidays. However, Green Top will remain open to key worker families. Therefore there will still be people available to answer your calls, texts and emails Monday to Friday 8am-5pm.

We will be continuing with Google hangouts and Google classroom in the same way we have this week and there will still be work set for English and Maths skills lessons daily. In addition there will be fun activities to complete as part of the Expedition learning plans. It would be great to catch up with you using one of these tools each day. We encourage you to have some down time too but don’t want to lose your enthusiasm and engagement in the home learning success we’ve had this week. It is such an uncertain time and all staff, children and parents who’ve spoken to me have really valued the positive impact the communication with friends and staff has had on the Green Top children and wider community. Unfortunately, no one knows how long this period of enforced school closure will last for and lots of you have asked me for more ideas of things to do at home when you’re stuck in the house.

We’d like to hear from you as often as possible and therefore will continue with our safe and well checks next week. As always if you need to talk or have anything to ask we’re at the end of the phone, email or text service.

Hope to see you all in hangouts or google classroom next week, send your teachers/phase leaders lots of photos too and look out for next weeks challenge for feel good Friday.

Thanks

Mrs Claira Salter
