Thursday 2.4.20

Wow class 8 another fantastic day of learning from everyone. I am blown away at how hard everyone is working and how many children have completed a ‘here for you’ sign ready for our feel good Friday video tomorrow. Seeing your photographs has really made me smile.

I notice lots of different methods to show how we calculate different maths problems.

I praise how creative you have all been by making sheep for spring in so many different ways.

I wonder if anyone can share their learning from Teach your Monster How to Read tomorrow.

Here’s some wonderful photographs of your learning today. See if you can see yours! See you all tomorrow, hangouts will be at the usual time of 9.15- 9.30.

Learning legend 2.4.20

Class 8’s learning legend today is Nigella! She has completed all the learning set everyday this week, she has mastered how to do hangouts and joins us every morning now  and she even did baking for our expedition learning this afternoon because she didn’t have any white materials for our craft. I think everyone will agree Nigella that you have been a Motivated Moe! Well done and keep up the good work.

Today’s learning 1.4.20

Class 8 have really done us proud today with their effort in learning and using the online classroom. I have loved seeing your Maths, English and Expedition learning. Today’s learning legend has got to be Amelia Davidson for completing her maths learning today and checking her answer to make sure it was correct and for figuring out how to do google hangouts, it has taken a couple of days but you did it (thanks to mum for helping too), what a pair of superstars! You have been a Stickability Stan.

Here’s some photos of your learning today, see you all tomorrow.

Learning 31.3.20

Today’s learning has been incredible, I am blown away at how much effort everyone is putting in to the online activities available. I know everything is a bit crazy at the moment but seeing everyone’s hard work and amazing crafts is really making me smile. I love seeing your smiley faces on hangouts and seeing what you have made or what things you are doing at home.

I have done a learning legends today for all the grown ups that have helped children to log on to the google classroom, uploaded work and photographs, got google hangouts working and just carried on trying to show us your learning from home. If you are near a grown up reading this give them a big hug and say thank you from Miss Hilton. Special shout out to Rosie’s mum for getting the work emailed today (I know it was tricky) and to Nigella’s mum for figuring out how to join hang outs! You are legends! See you all tomorrow for more learning fun.

Dolly Parton will be reading a bedtime story from the imagination library collection of books each evening at 7pm starting on Thursday 2nd April.

30.3.20 learning

I feel so over whelmed at how hard everyone is working at home to complete daily learning for English, Maths and Expedition. I am so proud of everyone taking part. It is so humbling to know that even at home you still want to learn and take part in our special school community. Today has been amazing after not seeing any of you for a week, that I can still chat to you on the classroom or talk to you on hangouts, it has seriously cheered me up loads!

Thank you class 8 you are all learning legends! It’s got to be Motivated Moe today, well done everyone!

Well done class 8, keep working hard! See you all tomorrow.

Week 2 plans for home learning

As you will know next week and the week after should have been the Easter holidays. However, Green Top will remain open to key worker families. Therefore there will still be people available to answer your calls, texts and emails Monday to Friday 8am-5pm.

We will be continuing with Google hangouts and Google classroom in the same way we have this week and there will still be work set for English and Maths skills lessons daily. In addition there will be fun activities to complete as part of the Expedition learning plans. It would be great to catch up with you using one of these tools each day. We encourage you to have some down time too but don’t want to lose your enthusiasm and engagement in the home learning success we’ve had this week. It is such an uncertain time and all staff, children and parents who’ve spoken to me have really valued the positive impact the communication with friends and staff has had on the Green Top children and wider community. Unfortunately, no one knows how long this period of enforced school closure will last for and lots of you have asked me for more ideas of things to do at home when you’re stuck in the house.

We’d like to hear from you as often as possible and therefore will continue with our safe and well checks next week. As always if you need to talk or have anything to ask we’re at the end of the phone, email or text service.

Hope to see you all in hangouts or google classroom next week, send your teachers/phase leaders lots of photos too and look out for next weeks challenge for feel good Friday.

Thanks

Mrs Claira Salter

A bright, sunny Thursday :)

Y2 you have blown me away with the amount of effort you have put into your learning again today! I have seen super maths and fantastic English. I’m so pleased to see you’ve all enjoyed the beautiful weather too!

Today you are ALL learning legends (including your grown ups as I know they’ve been working hard too!)

I can’t wait to see what you achieve tomorrow.

Remember we will be on hangout in the morning at 9.15 and share your work on your google classroom so we can all see your doing! Keep smiling 🙂
