Class 7 Mayor Revealed

Today, we have been learning about positions of power and how superheroes use these to do good things in their communities. We talked about what makes a good mayor and then our class mayor candidates presented their pledges and the votes were cast … Cara was voted for our classroom mayor with a huge 6 of the 23 votes! Well done to Cara who swiftly put her new position to good use by encouraging Poppy and Isabelle to help her litter pick on our playground – great job girls!

Local Superheroes in Class 7

Today, we began thinking about our new expedition and it’s guiding question: What will I do to be a superhero in my community? We discussed the different job roles of some superheroes we might come across every day – doctors, firefighters and vets for example. Then we enjoyed working in groups to role-play these and perform to one another.

Crew building

It has been lovely to welcome the children back to year 3 this week. We have been faced with a different crew challenge each day to practice our team building, resilience and perseverance. Have a look to see what we’ve been up to.

A great start for class 7!

Class 7 have started Year 2 with a bang! We’ve been busy discussing how colour links to our emotions and using this to create beautiful art. We’ve also been busy looking at tally charts and bar graphs too!

All of the children have had a fantastic return and it’s been lovely to see them all enjoying being back with their friends.

A special shout out today for Katie and Harry who independently critiqued one another’s handwriting, leading to immediate improvement … Super self-led learning guys! Well done 🙂

Fun water race!

Look at the fun year 3 are having!! It was so nice to receive these photos and its lovely to see you all enjoying sports week and some lovely sunshine! Glad you’re having fun – missing you loads year 3!

KS1 Final Product – update

KS1 were so excited to take receipt of their Summer expedition final product … a set of round-the-world Top Trump recipe cards!

Our expedition explored the question, ‘what does the food we eat tell us about the world around us?’.

The cards look fantastic and we are only disappointed that we can’t share them with you straight away due to the number of KS1 children currently self- isolating. With this in mind, we will launch the product when we return to school in September and offer everyone the opportunity to purchase their very own set.

Year 2 Sports Week so far …

Sports week has got off to a great start for the Year 2 children who are still at school. Monday saw us practising skills such as balancing, jumping and throwing followed by an exciting game of bench dodgeball in the hall. Today has been all about cricket with skills practice this morning. Unfortunately it was just too hot to play cricket this afternoon so we opted for a water game in the shade instead!

We hope all our friends at home are staying cool … We miss you!
