A big shout out to year 4 for their brilliant recounts! We have been very impressed with the children in school and also all the hard work and editing of the children at home. Keep it up year 4!
The children have been enjoying the high quality texts used as part of our expedition. This week we have enjoyed analysing the book called ‘the pebble in my pocket’ and it’s journey through time. The children had to scan the text in order to find the specific information. Well done Y4!
Do you fancy being entered in to a prize draw?
Every time you read a book and quiz on Accelerated Reader you will earn a raffle ticket!
All raffle tickets will be entered into the prize draw to be in with a chance of winning money vouchers at half term!
Teachers will keep a check on who has quizzed each week and will sort out the appropriate amount of raffle tickets for your child!
If you don’t have books at home, want to swap your books or just need general support please email your phase leader.
Good luck!
Take a look at these examples of high quality expedition work. The children have skilfully used coloured inks before adding a mono print volcano over the top. Utterly outstanding work! Keep an eye out over the next few days for more examples on our expedition site (which can be found here: https://sites.google.com/greentopschool.org/expedition-2-2021/hook-week )
We have been busy immersing our classroom and corridor with all things linked to rock formations and natural disasters. I think you’d agree that both staff and children have done a great job!
Today we had great fun making brownies for the local key workers in our community. With help from Michael, our school cook, we made brownies from scratch with excellent collaborative work. The brownies will be put into the packaging, made and designed by the children, and will be gifted to key workers in our community to show our appreciation for their efforts in lockdown. We will be visiting places in Thorne and Moorends this week to hand deliver our gifts. Keep your eyes posted for more Y3/4 blogs this week!
Across year 3 and 4 the children in funky Friday have been doing some wonderful crafts. Here are pictures of some of the fun things they have made in this time:-
Loads of lovely turtles.
Dream catchers and rockets.
Finally, this Friday they have made these amazing paper bag monsters.
