Marvellous Maths Collaboration! 🔢

What a super afternoon Class 10 had collaborating with each other on the tricky concept of inverse – doing the opposite to show if you are correct! It’s fair to say Class 10 got stuck right in and produced some great team work to ensure that all of us could understand this concept!

Times Tables Rock Stars Challenge!

As part of our commitment to make maths exciting and high profile in our school, we are taking part in a friendly competition involving schools in England. The competition runs from 07:30 GMT Tuesday 14th November 2023 to 19:30 GMT Thursday 16th November 2023. It’s all done online via play.ttrockstars.com.

Children can play in any game mode with every correct answer to a multiplication or division question, earning themselves, their class and the school a point. The Times Tables Rock Stars platform will calculate the class average (the number of correct answers per pupil in the class who play during the competition hours, subject to a daily 60-minute limit (see below). Winning classes in the school and in the competition as a whole will be the ones with the highest average.

To support player wellbeing, there is a daily time limit of 60-minutes per player. In other words, each player can earn competition points for up to 60-minutes between 07:30 GMT and 19:30 GMT on 07:30 GMT Tuesday 14th November 2023 to 19:30 GMT Thursday 16th November 2023. Once the player goes beyond 60-minutes of play on that day, they will still earn coins but will no longer earn points towards the competition.

Which Crew will be victorious? Who will rock their way to glory? Only time will tell…….

Class 10 Maths Magic! ➕

On our first day back after half term, Class 10 have worked together on column method and more specifically, Class 10 have been working on exchanging the extra 1. We had some of our expert coaches who were confident with this and made great teachers to the rest of the class! It was lovely to see such hard work and confidence from Class 10 in this ready to continue to work hard on in the future!

Class 11 practises weights!

Nope, it’s not those type of weights! We’ve been getting to understand how different objects have a different mass. We used weighing scales to be able to see this and we used our vocabulary of lighter, heavier and mass to gain more confidence with this. Check out how we got on below!

Exploring 6,7,8.

In F2 we have been looking at the numbers 6,7 and 8. We have been looking at the composition of the numbers and how we can represent in different ways. the children managed to find lots of different ways to show us the numbers. We have been so impressed with how hard they are all working.

Well done Reception Crew.

I wonder what we will discover next week ?

Maths Masters! 🔢

Class 11 worked super hard on their fractions in maths today. It was such a great vibe, as we worked collaboratively on working out the amounts within a fraction. Some of our experts helped the rest of us feel more confident with this skill and helped to make sure that we were all experts by the end. Keep up the great work guys, you were superb!
