We are very excited that we have had 10 eggs delivered today in reception. We are hopeful that these eggs will hatch and then we will have some chicks in our classroom by the end of the week.
We will keep you posted on the progress of this and what we find out this week.

The children learnt today about different forces and how they are a push or a pull. They then had the opportunity to work in teams to test the theory out with air (inside a balloon) pushing on air outside of the balloon to see what would happen. There was lots of fun and laughter but also lots of great learning! Super work class 8, hope you enjoyed our first experiment of science week!
To kick-start our science week, Class 10 have been busy investigating light! We started with researching light and shadow through photography on the playground and then we held an experiment in the classroom to see if light could bend through a series of holes. Why not ask us about our findings … did the light bend or did it travel in a straight line?
Keep a look out on the blog this week for what we will be getting up to in our science weeks. We are planning to inspire the children with scientific experiments and visitors with scientific professions! We are very excited to see what the children know already and what they learn!

Today, Class 7 created their own food boards to make sure that they understood a healthy and balanced diet. There was some beautiful work created. Well done Class 7 for another amazing lesson!

Today, we had an active science lesson! We drew around our friends and then labelled all of the body parts we know. Well done Class 7 for working so well and being so enthusiastic and sensible during the lesson!

I was really impressed today by the children recalling their knowledge on the life cycle of a plant and then learning about the functions of the structure of a plant. They did some superb labelled diagrams and then wrote about the different jobs that parts of a plant have to do!
Great work class 8!

Year 5 have worked their socks off this week! We have completed Science experiments, immersion activities, artwork, Reading lessons and Maths! We have learned lots whilst having fun…Hook Week completed!
Today in biology we have been investigating how our pupil changes size in light and dark. We learnt that when there is minimal light our pupil contracts to allow more light in helping us to see better and when there is light our pupil retracts to control the amount of light through our eye. #ogdentrust
