This morning Year 6 had a visit from Greg, a quantity surveyor. He told them all about the work he does and the skills he needs. Over the years, Greg has set up his own businesses; he got the children to think about what they enjoy and how this could be turned into a business idea. There were some fantastic ideas and we definitely have some budding entrepreneurs!
Class 10 have had a wonderful afternoon being ’mini’ teachers to share all of their Expedition knowledge with their adults. We made circuits light up, created food chains on scratch, labelled parts of plants, labelled the human digestive system and explored teeth. Everything was followed by a Kahoot quiz. A huge shout out is needed for crew Cunningham who won and James- Dean got 100 get smart HoWL points!
As always a huge thank you to our parents and adults for coming along and supporting us this afternoon we really appreciate it.
Aspirations week is well underway, after Class 11 worked on creating inspiration boards. They based their images on what they love and inspires them, which ranged from food, gaming and sports. It was interesting to see what makes Class 11 happy.
After that, Class 11 were lucky to have a visitor talk through their career. Claire spoke her job working in the medical industry and how she helps out medicines in the UK. Class 11 had lots of interesting questions to ask and were enthusiastic about health!
As part of Year 6 fundraising towards the children’s leavers hoodies, we will be hosting a bun sale at the Easter Fayre. We hope you can join us and support our stall.
Class 9 have made a great start to our aspirations week, lots of discussion has taken place about what job they want to do and where they would like to see themselves in the future.
Hi! For those who participated in the tournament, please can you bring back your football kits back to school ASAP! These include shirts, shorts and socks. Some have even borrowed shin pads, so we need to ensure they are all back too.
Imogen has had a fantastic day today doing her Irish dancing. She was the under 8 Irish reel winner today out of 19 dancers. She also got 2 4th places out of 28 dancers. A huge well done Imogen, we are all so proud of you 😊
Today, Year 3 and 4 were lucky to be able to visit XP for a tournament against other Trust schools: Norton Juniors and Plover.
The tournament started with a match between both Green Top teams, with a hard fought contest between year 3 and 4. The Year 3 team had a great time, showed lots of resilience and never gave up. They just kept going and scored some beautiful goals. For much of Year 3, this was their first time playing games together, so should be proud of their efforts.
The highlight for Year 3 was their 1-0 win over Plover, with a great move sealing the win. The team defended well and it was great to see a clean sheet being kept!
Year 4 had some hard fought games, winning a number and drawing a couple of others. The game of the tournament was their 4-4 draw, where they never gave up and showed tremendous resilience.
We can’t wait to keep building as teams and improving with more games in the future!
Myself and Mr Taylor really appreciate adults helping out with lifts, we really could not have done it without you.
Class 11 have been looking into the dangers of tooth decay. We learned that too much sugary and starch foods can cause dental cavities, which means our teeth rot. But, if we eat these in moderation, have good oral hygiene and have regular check ups with the dentist, we’re able to protect our teeth much better against tooth decay!
This week at arts and craft club, we continued with the theme of Easter. They showed real perseverance with something that looks quite simple but was actually really fiddly when it came to getting everything to stay stuck together! Well done guys – a fab club as always!
