Wonderful first day back in Class 6

How impressed I was by the grown up way Class 6 have settled into their new class today! We began with a fantastic crew session where we worked as a team to play the Hula-Hoop game – see below for pictures, re-capped on some phonics learning and began our expedition slice with the guiding question – How does what I do impact others? We listened to the story of Messy Magpie and discussed how dropping litter and not recycling our waste can have an effect on others as well as ourselves. After lunch we did some guided reading and then enjoyed a fantastic XP outdoors team game lead by Mr Kershaw (photos to follow). We ended the day with a lovely story and a crew session where we talked about all we had done.

I can’t wait to see you all tomorrow superstars!

Class 10s first day in Year 3! 😆

What a fantastic first day back Class 10 have had. I am absolutely blown away by their attitude, hard work and kindness. Have you really had 5 weeks off?

We started today by having XP Outdoors with Mr Kershaw and Class 9. We had to build dens after there was a devastating storm that had sunk our ship. As a Crew, we had to make sure we worked together to collect materials and build dens that we could survive it!

After this, Class 10 were introduced to their first week back, mini-guiding question. We are looking into ‘what does Crew mean to me?’ Using think, pair, share, Class 10 were able to have some interesting discussions about how Crew helps them and others. There were so many fantastic ideas that were discussed! We found out that we would be spreading the message of kindness by painting kind messages onto rocks.

After lunch, we then continued our day by looking for rocks on the school field that could be used for our positivity rocks. We found loads and hope that we can inspire the wider community to complete their own, once ours are completed!

Crew Knowles – First day back!

We’ve had such a lovely first day back in Year 4! We have enjoyed lots of team building challenges including building with marshmallows and toothpicks, stacking cups using string and elastic and then a very fun game of rock, paper, scissors this afternoon!

Class 8, Crew Shaw first day back!

I have had such a wonderful day today getting to know the children and hearing all about their Summer holidays. They have been such a joy today and created such beautiful work. I hope you loved seeing the positive messages that they wrote on their keyrings today…they put so much effort into them and they looked fabulous! Well done class 8! See you again tomorrow, Mrs Shaw x x

Great first day back!

We’ve had a lovely first day in our new class in year 2! We cant wait to show you all what we have been working on today, hopefully we can bring them home soon and share them with our grown ups.

See you all tomorrow.

Year 2 local walk tomorrow

Just to let parents and carers know that year 2 will be going on a local walk in the afternoon to litter pick, as part of us helping the local community. You do not need to do anything extra but please make sure that the children have a jacket in case it rains while we are out. You have already signed the parental consent forms last year and they are still valid.

Thanks so much, from Mrs Shaw, Mrs Dutton and Miss Hilton x x x
