Crew Rodgers food prep skills
Year 1 split into crews today to participate in a carousel of food preparation skills. In Miss Rodgers’ classroom we experimented with peeling different kinds of fruit and vegetables including cucumbers, apples and carrots. In Miss Schon’s room we used box graters to grate the above ingredients. Finally in Miss Cooper’s crew room we used special knives and learned how to safely chop bananas, peppers and tomatoes using the bridge and claw method. Well done everyone!

Thank you so much to Albie’s grandad for coming in to talk to us about his allotment and how he plants and grows vegetables. He has kindly given both classes a strawberry plant, some cress and some peas. We can’t wait to watch them grow!
