How lovely it was this morning to see the children so confidently sharing their favourite books with their parents and carers as part of World Read Aloud day. We finished the morning’s activity with me reading my own favourite book to everyone – The Great Dog Bottom Swap by Peter Bently.
Perhaps the children could read YOU a bedtime story tonight instead of the other way around!
We have a lovely end to the day celebrating World Read Aloud day with our grown ups and friends! It was lovely to hear everyone reading out loud and enjoying lots of stories.
Wow! What a morning and a tremendous effort! Thank you everyone who came to support the ‘book and biscuit’ & toy sale event. Together with the sponsored walk we have raised whopping £900 for our EYFS expedition and Nursery resources. Thank you from the bottom of out hearts for your incredible support.

We have had a beautiful after school club drawing polar bears. Elizabeth even linked hers to our class book, The Last Bear. We have all taken such pride in our work, I definitely think we have some budding artists among us. Well done year 3/4!
In today’s world, we have easier access to the internet than ever before, whether that be through computers, mobile devices, tablets or even gaming consoles. Despite it’s obvious benefits, the internet can also pose many potential threats to us if we don’t make the correct choices whilst using it. Tuesday 6th February marks ‘Safer Internet Day’ across the UK with aim of promoting safer behaviour while we are online.
Over the half-term we will be running a competition throughout school to help raise awareness of what we can do to stay safe online. Children are tasked with designing a poster to promote safer internet use, with the best design from each year group winning a prize. These can be hand-drawn or even created digitally if you wish to showcase your skills using technology. If you would like to enter, then you need to hand your entry to your crew/class teacher before Friday 23rd February. Let’s get creative!
Today in Expedition we used our reading skills to retrieve information and build our background knowledge on the evolution of trains. Great work guys – you worked incredibly hard.
