Great measuring everyone!

Super understanding of using different measuring equipment and which is the best tool to select for the size of the job.  The children loved using the trundle wheels and carefully counting the clicks to count metres.  Their favourite part of the lesson was using the tape measure to compare head sizes!  Keep up the hard up!

Super Historians in Class 5!

Well done Class 5 on using the different sources of information to gather facts about the history the old cinema in Thorne.  The children loved learning about the different uses of the building over time including a bingo hall and a nightclub.  They thought it was very funny to discover that after been abandoned for over 15 years it was covered with bird poo inside from the pigeons living there!

I am so proud of your hard work and collaborative learning.  I wonder who will recall a fact to record in their expedition book on Monday?

Class 12 loving the outdoors!!

I can honestly say I think this has been the best school trip I’ve been on! The kids, Miss Rooke and myself had an amazing day. And yet again, I’ve come away feeling so proud of all them and their achievements no matter how small! These are truly a fantastic bunch of kids!

Here we are orienteering and den building in the woods!

Swimming on Tuesday!

I would just like to share how extremely proud I was of all of class 12 on Tuesday for their first swimming session. They were so supportive of each other and let nothing phase them. Me and miss Rooke sat back and had so many ‘proud mum’ moments with them all!

Thanks guys your super and a credit to our school and your families!

Expedition Fun- History 💻

We had a fab Expedition lesson yesterday continuing to learn about the History of Thorne.

Children played our “Roll on the wall” game, where they worked in teams to go outside and retrieve information about the old cinema and take it back to their teams until they had each gathered all of the information correctly. It was so much fun!!

After that, children worked together on the chrome books to read the slides about the old cinema and record it on their information sheets. They children were really surprised that it was left empty for 20 years and another child mentioned that they were shocked it was a bingo hall and nightclub too!

Well done teams! You were great Historians!!! 🌟
