Class 8 maths

We have started our new maths unit on place value this week and I have been so impressed with what they already know! They have created maths posters today, showing different ways to make the number 18 and representing it in different ways. Their creativity and understanding of place value was shown today during their independent learning. Well dome class 8.

class 8 further study

We had lots to chat about in crew today because of the children’s celebrations at home and the fabulous home learning that has been happening! Elea had been using an app on a ipad to change a photo of her sister. Annie had been grouping his lego and counting in 10s and Phoenix has been showing courage and compassion by donating his old teddies to a local charity!

Also, a massive well done to Matilda who came 2nd in her first song and dance dancing competition and to Thomas who got man of the match at football last week! Amazing work guys…keep it up x x

KS1 – request for cardboard boxes

Next week, the children in Years 1 & 2 will be making box model houses to support their learning about the Great Fire of London. If you have any suitable boxes at home please can you send one into school with your child. Boxes from everyday kitchen goods are ideal, such as cereal and tea bag boxes.

Thank you for your continued support with our learning, The KS1 team x

KS1 Superhero Family Learning

This afternoon, we held our first KS1 family learning event of the year. Thank you to all of the parents/carers who were able to join us to take part in some superhero skill based activities – water pistol shoot-out, archery and super strength tyre flipping to name just a few! We look forward to welcoming you into school again soon and hope you enjoyed our fun afternoon.

Class 8’s fantastic artwork

Class 8 have created this fantastic piece of artwork today that I think looks amazing in my classroom! They have worked together to draw their own section of the picture of Martin Luther King Jnr. There was beautiful colouring by everyone today too…well done!

Class 8’s first PE lesson

It was very hot today during our pe lesson so we took it steady. We warmed up in the shade by doing some stretches and then we focused on stamina with some running and jogging activities, as well as some motor skills work by focusing on balancing and climbing on our playground equipment. The children completed the carousel of PE activities and we went inside for a huge drink of water!

Well done class 8

National read a book day in class 8

Class 8 were very lucky today because they got a treat when Hope from year 3 came and read to them as part of ‘National read a book day’. Hope had chosen a lovely book that I hadn’t read before and it was so funny…we all enjoyed it and she read beautifully.

Also, in shared reading today, the children worked with a partner to read our text and answer questions about it…I was so impressed! Well done guys!
