During our July and September transition weeks we have enjoyed working together to build our crew. We are unpicking the skills that we need to work together successfully by listening to each other, being kind and collaborating together. Here are a few photographs to see what we have been up to!
Today Crew Overson created pieces of abstract art in the style of Wassily Kandinsky.
Kandinsky expressed his feelings and music through shapes, lines and colours in his paintings. Class 13 used these features in their pieces of artwork and did a fantastic job!
It may not have come home but Y6 were supporting England fully last week and are so proud of the England squad for getting to the final!
The winning tickets for the Year 6 raffle have been drawn. There are 14 prizes in total so make sure that you check your ticket as there is a great chance of winning. Thank you to all local and small businesses who have donated a wonderful prize, as well as all of those who bought raffle tickets. Whilst not everyone will be able to win a prize, your kindness and generosity has gone a long way towards providing leavers hoodies and a few nice treats for our Year 6’s in the final week. Thank you!

Trinity Academy came in yesterday afternoon to teach Y6 a science lesson all about static electricity. It was loads of fun and they are all very excited for their science lessons next year!
A big shout out to this weeks HOWL point winners and an added shoutout to Crew Knowles for gaining the most amount of points overall and winning 15 minutes extra break!

This afternoon, Y5&6 were lucky to receive a visit from Watson Boas who plays rugby league for Doncaster and Papu New Guinea. As part of the build up to the World cup Watson shared his experiences of growing up playing rugby and how he came to be a professional rugby player. Thank you Watson and I am sure we will be cheering you on in October at the World cup!
Here are the list of raffle prizes that have been kindly donated so far from businesses and individuals within the local community. Any further donations, no matter how big or small, would be hugely appreciated. If there are any further donations, please could they be brought into school by Wednesday 30th June. The final deadline to purchase tickets (£1 per strip) will be Friday 2nd July, with all proceeds going towards Year 6 hoodies and celebrations. Anyone is welcome to buy tickets, just send money into school in a labelled envelope and class teachers will ensure it makes its way to the right place. The Y6 girls have enjoyed their second session today as part of the Active Fusion programme! It certainly looks like they’re having fun!
I would like to say a big well done to all of those Year 5 and 6 children who were able to bring in donations for our local food bank. We have managed to collect a fantastic amount which will hopefully go towards those who need it the most. Well done!
