Supporting Children in Need in Crew Jackson

Kind words in Crew Jackson
This week in Crew we have been thinking about anti-bullying. The children have generated kind words and produced posters. We went on to have a crew circle on saying kind words to other crew members. It was so lovely to hear the kind things they said to each other.

Wow! This morning I am blown away by the amazing artwork the children are producing with Mrs Green. They have just completed their first draft and are now critiquing it ready to improve and do a second draft.  I can’t wait to go back and see their next attempt.

Next week we will be celebrating Children in Need on Thursday 18th November!
Thursday will be a dress up day where we are inviting children to wear something spotty and bright coloured! Any donations on the dress up day for Children in Need will be gratefully received.
Our school council are also holding a couple of competitions which will be running next week.
- Drawing of Pudsey competition
- Design a Children in Need T-shirt
The Learning Council members really enjoyed visiting the Year 5/6 classrooms yesterday to watch maths in actions! They captured lots of lovely learning happening which you can check out below!
Also, a big thank you to all those that have taken part in our ‘guess the sweets’ activity! We will be visiting EYFS on Friday to take their guesses and then will reveal the winner next week! The Learning Council can’t wait!
More reading superstars during History today
Crew Jackson are blowing me away at the moment with their awesome reading skills. Not only are they confidently developing their fluency when reading non-fiction, they are showing they can use their inference skills to match dates and facts that show the evolution of trains over time.
Keep up the hard work guys!

Well done Crew Jackson on fantastic history learning this afternoon. You all used your reading inference skills to match facts about Doncaster Plant Works to the correct phase in its history. I was so impressed with your collaboration and communication skills.
Keep up the great work!
Mrs Jackson
Great collaborative learning this morning with lots of discussion with peers on which calculation needs to be done to solve a problem. The children are really starting to gain a better understanding about when to use inverse calculations.
Keep working hard everyone!
