This week, Class 8 have been busy composing, rehearsing and performing their own music using symbols. I have been blown away by the musical learning I have seen in class but more importantly the crew building opportunities these lessons have given us. The children have shown great reflection skills, teamwork and collaboration. I am so proud of each and everyone one of them – well done all! Please enjoy watching our performances …
Today’s crew challenge was all about team work again. Each team had 5 minutes to discuss how they were going to protect their egg when it was dropped from a height. Using the equipment provided, they then had half an hour to build their parachutes.
On Friday, we tested our communication skills to see if we could guide our teammate through the maze. It was great to see everyone getting involved and improving their instructions each time.
We hope the lucky recipients of the children’s beautiful flowers made on Friday afternoon appreciated their bouquets, all lovingly handmade by Class 8 with the help of the very talented Mrs Clay!
Hello
Please find attached the google form for week 2 of our John o Groats to Lands End challenge. I will update the map on Monday evening so it gives everyone time to send their steps in. Good luck and keep those steps up!
Today’s challenge – Which team can make the tallest or most interesting tower?
The challenge was a little bit tricky today and we had to be resilient to try to make our towers.
For our crew building session this morning, Class 8 talked about what a collaborative classroom would look and feel like before working in small crews to design a boardgame ready to be played tomorrow!
Crew Cooper also had a go at the cup tower challenge yesterday. It was a bit of a challenge working together but we had a great debrief so let’s hope we have learnt from today’s challenge and can apply that to the rest of or work this week.
