Investigating Light!

In class 10 this afternoon, we have been investigating light. We know that light travels in a straight line from the light source and into our eye. We also know that cardboard blocks light so we wanted to see what happens when light passes through different materials.

After our investigation, we could explain the difference between transparent, translucent and opaque. I wonder if you can explain what the difference is?

Year 3 Beautiful Work

As promised, here are our final pieces. It was amazing to see the time and pride that all the children put in to complete their work. I am super proud of all of you. Keep up the great work!

We would like to invite parents and carers to join KS1 in a celebration of our Autumn term expedition … What will I do to be a Superhero in my Community?

On Thursday 2nd December, we will be serving tea and coffee in the hall from 8.45am before sharing our learning with you. We will then invite you to join us on a march to promote litter picking in the local area, an important message that the children in KS1 feel particularly passionate about sharing with everyone.

We hope you will be able to join us on the morning of Thursday 2nd December.

Kind regards,

everyone in the KS1 team 🙂

Fabulous Class 7

I just wanted post a quick blog to show my appreciation and say a huge well done to class 7. Everyone has had a great first half-term in y2 and the children are working so hard in all that they do. Keep it up everyone! Here’s a few snaps of some recent learning legends … Who will be next?!

Key stage 1 competition

As part of our celebration of learning for this current expedition, we would like the children to create their own pickets and signs which relate to recycling and putting litter in the bin.

We intend to use them as part of our march in the local community on Thursday 2nd December.

Please complete and bring your picket into school by Monday 29th November – thank you!

There will be a small prize in each class for the best design.

Can’t wait to see what you create,

Mrs Shaw and the key stage 1 team! X

Children in Need – dress up day!

Next week we will be celebrating Children in Need on Thursday 18th November!

Thursday will be a dress up day where we are inviting children to wear something spotty and bright coloured! Any donations on the dress up day for Children in Need will be gratefully received.

Our school council are also holding a couple of competitions which will be running next week.

  1. Drawing of Pudsey competition
  2. Design a Children in Need T-shirt

A wonderful start to Maths Week!

We’ve had a great start to Maths Week with lots of the Y5/6 children guessing how many sweets are in the tub, lots of great, engaging maths lessons, and lots of lovely maths stories shared in crew!

The LC have loved going in to the Y3/4 maths lessons to see maths in action and they are looking forward to going in to Y5/6 maths lessons tomorrow!

Here is a sneak peak of all the wonderful maths that Y3/4 have been up to today!
