This week we will be looking at different strategies to practise spellings with a focus on the statutory spellings. These are words that children should be able to spell at the end of each year group. Have a look at the strategies we use and the spellings below.

Mr Ambler and myself are creating a PE display for school. In this display, we want to celebrate our sporting successes across school whether it is a tournament, PE clubs or outside teams.

Year 5 Updates
We hope you have all had a lovely Easter break and are ready for the summer term! There are a few changes for this half term.
PE
This half term we are having Kixx for our PE sessions. This means that PE will now be on a Monday afternoon. Please make sure you bring your PE kit, including trainers, every Monday.
XP Outdoors
On a Thursday morning, we have XP Outdoors. Please bring suitable clothing with you every Thursday.
If you have any questions about what kit is needed please don’t hesitate to ask.
Class 14 – Aspirations Week
What an amazing final week of this term! We have been so busy with our aspirations week. We have had loads of visitors and completed lots of different tasks linked to our aspirations. A massive thank you to all our visitors – it was great to find out about all your different jobs!

Y5/6 Arts and Craft Club
This week at arts and craft club, we continued with the theme of Easter. They showed real perseverance with something that looks quite simple but was actually really fiddly when it came to getting everything to stay stuck together! Well done guys – a fab club as always!

Y5/6 – Community Crew Meeting
A massive shout out to our HOWL point winners and the Out of the World Winners this week. You have all impressed the adults in your crews by being kind, working hard and getting smarter.
Well done Crew Ambler on still leading Accelerated Reader in our phase; the competition is getting closer now! Huge congratulations to Crew Mumby for winning both attendance this week and the HOWLs point spin the wheel – enjoy your extra playtime guys!
