Children in Need 2021

Introducing Crew Faulding, in all of their bright, yellow and spotty glory!

Happy and excited to celebrate such an amazing cause today. You’ve all put in so much effort and you look incredible!

Even with everything going on today, they’re still working unbelievably hard to meet our crew target for this week and produce their best learning. Great job guys!

One kind word :)

In G Block this week, Year 4 created their own versions of what ‘one kind word’ meant to them by working collaboratively to produce a poster.

In their groups, children discussed different situations that they may have been in and explained how that made them feel and reflected on how moving forward, a simple kind word can make all the difference.

Kicking off anti-bullying week!

Anti-Bullying Week 2021

As part of crew this morning, we’ve all shared our odd socks and have discussed the meaning of bullying and the impact that it can have on individuals. We will be covering lots on this, this week, so watch this space!

Thanks,

Mrs Faulding 🙂

Children in Need – dress up day!

Next week we will be celebrating Children in Need on Thursday 18th November!

Thursday will be a dress up day where we are inviting children to wear something spotty and bright coloured! Any donations on the dress up day for Children in Need will be gratefully received.

Our school council are also holding a couple of competitions which will be running next week.

  1. Drawing of Pudsey competition
  2. Design a Children in Need T-shirt

Year 4 – Times Tables Rock Star – Friday dress up!

Good morning,

On Friday (12/11/21), year 4 and year 4 teachers are dressing up as rock stars to promote Times Tables Rockstars and conclude ‘Maths Week’ at Green Top. Please don’t feel that you need to go out and buy anything, we’re just aiming for a rock starish look and an afternoon of using this site to practice our TIMES TABLES!

A wonderful start to Maths Week!

We’ve had a great start to Maths Week with lots of the Y5/6 children guessing how many sweets are in the tub, lots of great, engaging maths lessons, and lots of lovely maths stories shared in crew!

The LC have loved going in to the Y3/4 maths lessons to see maths in action and they are looking forward to going in to Y5/6 maths lessons tomorrow!

Here is a sneak peak of all the wonderful maths that Y3/4 have been up to today!

A great start to Maths Week in Year 4!

Maths Week has started with a bang this week in Crew Mumby. Today we have worked collaboratively to develop our knowledge of the column method to subtract. It has been lovely to see our group work flourish by the established norms we follow as a crew. Great work team!

Accelerated Reader Champs!

Last half term, I have been blown away by the engagement of Crew Mumby in Accelerated Reader sessions. I set the children a challenge at the start of the term of scoring at least 80% on the book quizzes they complete. Each time a child scored 80% or more, they placed a raffle ticket in the jar. It’s safe to say that the children rose to the challenge and the jar was brimming with raffle tickets by the end of the half term! The progress has been superb….I wonder who will be our winners in the next half term?

Well done to Autumn 1’s winners however you’re all winners by being so dedicated to improving your reading!

Our new class council representative!

I’m very proud to announce that Lexii is Crew Mumby’s class council representative for this academic year. I know she will do a great job as she is a great role model in class. Thank you to all members of Crew Members who also put their name forward for this role; it was great to see how many children wanted to represent our crew!

Interesting fieldwork at the Danum Museum

Before half-term, Y4 took part in some engaging fieldwork at the Danum Museum in Doncaster. We were able to build on our prior knowledge to ask questions about what life was like in Doncaster during the Roman invasion. This work will help us to make our expedition product even more informative. Great work Year 4!
