We were lucky enough to chat and meet a few polar bears in Crew Faulding this week!
The children used their knowledge of our story so far and made sensible inferences relating to this. It was great to see our polar bears immerse themselves fully in to their roles and how they also considered very carefully how the polar bear would be feeling. All children made great links between the story and our expedition learning, transferring across prior knowledge around Svalbard to support them even more with how the polar bear is feeling and why this might be (climate change).
Following on from the hot seating activity, children discussed other contributing factors to what’s happening to the polar bear and responded to a question relating to this.
A huge shout out to everyone for carrying out this activity so sensibly! You all immersed yourself fully in to the task but maintained respect and sensibility while doing so. Super proud!
