We’ve had so much fun learning about solid, liquid and gases today. We’ve collaborated and sorted the different objects for the three different states as well as learning about the particles that make up these states.
I wonder…HOME LEARNING!!
Could you create a poster showing these different particles and write a short explanation for each one?
Yesterday, Crew Myers and Crew Faulding enjoyed having a reading cafe to celebrate Pyjamarama Day. It was great to see lots of children looking nice and cosy in their PJ’s whilst reading a book of their choice and sharing it with their friends. We also enjoyed having juice and brownies in our cafe too!
I just had to share some of the beautiful work that has been produced today.
In expedition, we have been historian writers and have worked hard to research and piece together the life of an amazing and inspirational woman, ‘Mary Prince’ and wrote a diary entry from her perspective.
I want to take a minute to praise everyone in our crew for working hard on:
Their presentation- taking extra care with their handwriting
Including specific features
Supporting each other through their peer critique on the rubric
A big shout out to some of our post card winners this week!
You’ve all earned your place up there by your amazing learning attitudes. You’re setting a superb example to the rest of your crew and we are all really proud of you!
We’ve had a big push on our handwriting and presentation in academic crew this week, just in time for our final writing touch down!
We discussed where letters should sit on the lines and how to write using horizontal strokes even if we can’t join our writing yet. It was evident in your final touchdown writing today that you’ve taken away all that we’ve learnt.
Keep it up, I want to see the same high standard of writing and presentation in every piece of work please!
A huge shout out to everyone in Crew Faulding for working hard in maths today.
We’ve been recapping finding the area and perimeter of a shape and I have been blown away by what everyone can remember about this unit and how you applied your prior knowledge, creating beautiful work!
Are you ready to face Lady Overson and Lord Mumby? Will you be hired? The Apprentice has arrived at Green Top.
Join us on Thursday 19th May to see if you have what it takes to be hired in each crew. Arrive at the office at 1:30pm and be prepared to receive your brief. You will have a number of tasks to complete before pitching your final product. Finally, an anonymous vote will take place to see who will be hired. We will finish at 3pm.
Year 3 and 4 are getting organised for their final product for this summer expedition- it’s going to be a brilliant one!- and we really need some glass jars.
We are hoping for each child to have 2 glass jars that they can use as part of their final product so we would like to start collecting them as soon as possible to ensure that we get enough.
We would like to continue supporting our last expedition ‘How can we protect our beautiful planet?’ By reusing glass jars rather than buying them new so if you could please help us with this, we would greatly appreciate it!
Ideally, we would like jars in similar sizes to these shown in the picture, nothing too small though. A pasta sauce jar or jam jar etc would be perfect. Additionally, we would like for these to be brought in to school washed and clean please along with the labels removed.
Also, if you’ve already sent your two jars in for your child but have more that you’d like to donate then of course, feel free as we will be more than happy to make use of them or to distribute them out to anyone who hasn’t got one.
Thank you in advance for your continued support! We can’t wait to share this product with you soon.
Wow year 5 have been absolutely A-M-A-Z-I-N-G in G-Block the past couple of weeks with our new music sessions! Not only do they look the part, but they are sounding brilliant and are developing and deepening their knowledge and understanding of music too! We have looked at different music notes, revised key words such as tempo and pitch, and the children can tell you the importance and purpose of a beat, as well as the style of different songs. They have enjoyed the vocal warm ups and have also loved learning our main song ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’ which we will continue to practice over the next few weeks ready for a final performance!
Keep it up my little rockstars!! I’m really impressed 😀
