Year 1 and 2 welcome meeting

We are delighted to invite all parents and carers of children in Year 1 and Year 2 to our welcome meeting on Monday 8th September from 5.00pm – 6.00pm in the school hall (please use the hall door entrance).

This meeting will be a wonderful opportunity to meet the Year 1/2 teaching team and to hear more about the exciting year of learning ahead. The meeting will cover many things for both year groups including phonics, visits and we can answer any questions that you may have.

Most importantly, this will be a chance to learn about routines and expectations in Year 1 and year 2, and to see how home and school can work together to make this a positive, successful and enjoyable year for every child. We look forward to welcoming you and sharing the exciting journey ahead!

Thank you in advance,

Y1 and Y2 Team

Class 7 – FWB Day 4!

What a lovely start to the day we had by singing our songs down Finkle Street and then handing out the key rings that we made. We even handed out our key rings to make people smile!

We then visited a local care home and sang songs, before handing out our cards to the residents!

Finally, we ended the day by having our water fun activities!

Class 7 – Day 3 FWB!

What a lovely morning we had completing an orienteering course where we got to run around the KS2 playground in search of different points!

We then were lucky to be able to visit Camp Green Top that Mr Kershaw put on for us. We read in tents, made musical instruments and toasted marshmallows with Mr Kershaw!

Here we are reading and making instruments!

We ended the day by litter picking within the community!

KS1 Superheroes Unite – An invitation to our family learning event on Thursdy 4th September

On Thursday 4th September, all KS1 children are invited to come to school dressed as a favourite superhero of their choice. We have been learning about heroes in the local community so they may wish to consider these, such as police officers and nurses, or they may opt for their favourite fictional superhero instead. Costumes do not have to be bought – be creative with the things you already have at home!

Parents and carers are then invited to join us on the Key Stage 1 playground from 1.30pm where you will be able to enjoy a range of superhero themed activities (trainers a must, capes and masks optional!)

We do hope you will join us and we can’t wait to see you all then.
