Crew Walton ended Hook Week on an enormous high! We had so much fun creating our Roman shields whilst dressed up as real Romans! Finally, we participated in a super-informative Roman Workshop with Heritage Doncaster where everyone had the chance to handle real artefacts, solve problems, create mosaics and play a real Roman game! What a fabulous end to our week!
Please take a few moments to have a look at the overview for our Expedition learning this term. Additionally, each child would greatly benefit from completing tasks weekly from our Homework Menu. Many thanks,
Y3/4 Team

We have had a very entertaining week so far in Class 12! We have looked at the background geography of the Romans and made our very own Dolly Peg Roman soldiers! The rest of the week is full of wonderful activities too!
We are so excited that Year 4 will be participating in XP Outdoors this half term on a WEDNESDAY. We are also lucky enough to have Activ8 for our PE sessions on a FRIDAY.
Please ensure your child has the correct change of clothing for each session.
Many thanks, Miss Walton and Mr Mumby
We are delighted to invite all parents and carers of children in Year 3 and Year 4 to our Welcome Meeting on Wednesday 17th from 5.00pm – 6.00pm in the school hall (please use the hall door entrance). This meeting will be a wonderful opportunity to meet the Year 3/4 teaching team and to hear more about the exciting year of learning ahead. We will be sharing details about how we will continue to develop reading fluency, comprehension and a love of books, as well as explaining how we are preparing Year 4 children for the Multiplication Tables Check (MTCs) later in the year. Parents of Year 4 pupils will also hear about upcoming swimming lessons and how these fit into the wider PE curriculum. Most importantly, this will be a chance to learn about routines and expectations in Year 3 and Year 4, and to see how home and school can work together to make this a positive, successful and enjoyable year for every child. We look forward to welcoming you and sharing the exciting journey ahead!
Thank you in advance,
Y3 and Y4 Team
We are all very excited for our hook week next week where we’ll be getting creative and kick-starting our amazing new expedition all about the Romans!
On Friday 5th September we will be visited by a Roman workshop in school and all our Y3 and Y4 children are invited into school wearing Roman attire.
We still have a number of payments outstanding for the workshop so please don’t forget to pop onto ParentPay to complete the £7.00 payment for this as soon as possible so that we know we can still go ahead with this amazing learning experience.
Thank you, LKS2 team x
Class 12 have had an amazing week so far completing lots of fun activities to build on our existing Crew values. I am so proud of everyone’s hard work and participation and cannot wait for the Water Extravaganza and more importantly, the rest of our year together!
Crew Walton are preparing to move on to Year 6 by graduating! Sadly, a couple of special faces are missing, but we continue to be Crew!
Thank you to the new Crew Walton for a fantastic couple of days! We have explored the Zones of Regulation-creating super videos, developed our own Maths Story book, hosted 2 successful Reading sessions with parents and carers, had a dance class and had a generally lovely time getting to know one another! Bring on the Autumn Term!
